YAY!!!

That is SO exciting! I am seriously so happy for you! :)

Just out of curiosity, if you don't mind me asking, how long did your passport take? I've never had one but am hoping to change that soon. :)

Thank you!! I am so ridiculously excited. I've gotten my flights and I've been stalking the convention website so that I can jump on the tickets when they go on sale. :)

My passport took three weeks on the nose. I sent in the paperwork on 8/5 and got the passport back in the mail on 8/26. They say to expect it to take 4-6 weeks, though ... it depends on busy they are.

That's awesome! Getting flights can be stressful, at least for me - trying to find the best times/prices, etc. Glad you've already gotten them and the hotel taken care of!

That's great that it took only 3 weeks! Also glad to hear that it took less and not more than the expected 4-6. :)

Thanks! For the flights, I stalked Expedia for a while to find times that worked for me. (I'm taking the day before I leave and the day after I come home off from work as well so my times were a bit flexible, especially on the coming-home side.) I was going to do a bundle but then I realized that since I knew what hotel I wanted, it would probably be easier to just book with the hotel directly. Plus, the convention reserves a block of rooms for a special rate so it actually will end up being a little cheaper doing the flight and the hotel separately. (And because I booked with the hotel directly, the charge won't hit my credit card until I check out, which will help me space the payments out a bit ( ... )
