So, I finally saw Tangled.

Every single time Mother Gothel did anything, all I could think was "Holy shit, Judge Turpin grew tits!"  (Seriously- watch this and tell me she isn't femTrupin.)

Oh, my God, she is. Possessive, manipulative, keeps her ward locked up, attractive in that salt-and-pepper way, a little too handsy...it's uncanny.

Basically she's the Witch from Into the Woods' daughter with either Turpin or Frollo.

It doesn't hurt that Donna Murphy was originally a contender to be the Witch and I'm a little suspicious of just how much inspiration the animators drew from Bernadette Peters' original costume and mannerisms.
