Just some ficlets that I did last night, in me first Word War. Hehe. Silly. I like The middle one the best. Credits for banners coming soon.
Oh, how she hated to be named the same a certain blond-haired slayer from a certain Tv show.
Sure it would have been nice if she indeed was like her and all, blond and pretty. But nope, she was herself. Black, short hair and funky eyes that couldn't seem to decided what dull color they were going to be.
It's not like her Mom decided to name her after that show, but she was growing up just as that show became popular and man was she the butt of many jokes about girl power and vampires.
Maybe that was why she wanted to slap that Joss Whedon if she ever saw him for naming his main-main character as Buffy.
And the worst part was her name was Winters. She was Buffy Winters. Haha, very funny. She had legally changed her name to Elizabeth Winters. She thought it was more elegant and fitting but her Mother and family still called her Buffy.
Her friends only did that if they wanted to bug her or anything, or they'd call her Liz, Lizzie or some version of that. Also her sisters called her that if they wanted to get on her good side and ask her to do something they didn't want to do like take their Mother shopping or something.
Because no one wanted to take her shopping, since she tried on everything twice and asked all these really silly questions of the staff which they couldn't possibly know and shopping was just not made fun with her.
"Oh, leave me alone!" Simone muttered to the devil who was pulling her comforter away from her...on a Saturday!!!
"No, no. You promised me that you would help us with making the Christmas cards this year. Just before you went to sleep yesterday did you say that you would help us. And you are going to help this year." Her Dad told her, as he finally ripped the red-checkered duvet of her and she groaned as the light hit her face from her window.
She hated the holidays. Her family was all about the arts and crafts while she just wanted to spend it playing games on her Playstation 2. Especially her Buffy The Vampire Slayer: Chaos Bleeds. It's actually a quite tricky game, even if you had a walkthrough. Which she only took a peek at if it got too difficult and she had died a few times.
But she had promised him that she would help and she was not going to hear the end of it until she joined them at the living room table which was probably filled with glitter, stickers, glue, potato-stamps and paint.
It couldn't be too bad, except maybe she would get glitter in her hair again like last time. It would take days to get rid of it. It really gets down to your scalp and stays there and oh, man, if you have long hair it might take weeks to get it all.
So, she dragged herself out of bad and pulled on some comfy jeans and this really nice long sleeved Grey shirt with full-length sleeves. It was 100% cotton and like 70% off, even though there was nothing wrong with it... that she could see anyways.
Her six year old sister was already seated at the table, in her smurfs nightgown. The retro cartoon because it used to be Simone's favorite nightgown when she was younger. They never threw it away and it had been old when Simone got it. Hand-me-downs tend to rock at times.
When Simone sat down with her, Jolie just beamed up at her and then continued to smear some of that glue-stick on her green card and then sprinkle some silver glitter on it mixed with some red as well.
Then she pushed a red card read to be decorated at Simone and looked up at her with such joy in her eyes that Simone didn't really feel as tired as she had earlier and was just glad that she had been woken up to take part in this tradition. But she was starting to wonder where the heck their Dad was.
Because if he had gone back to sleep after he so brutally woke her up, she was going to give him a piece of her mind. Oh, yes she was. Because that was truly evil, to wake her up to do this with her sister just so he could go back to sleep.
"Dad, where are you!?" Simone yelled, and knew he would hear it into his bedroom since their flat was quite small after they moved out of their house after the divorce. Her mom wanted the house, not the kids. She was never a great mom anyways.
"What are you doing, huh huh huh?" Lilly's annoying brat of a brother, Billy asked her as he kept trying to look over her shoulder and onto her laptop screen. He was driving her insane and their parents weren't home and she was left with demon spawn.
Her parents just leave her with him without notice and they knew that she had to write this essay. But ooh, since it was just a history essay they didn't think it needed as much time as if you were writing a paper for science or law.
She knew she had a problem with procrastination and all that, so she only had about two weeks until the paper was really due but you got extra points for turning in early. The teacher had said so and he didn't look like he was kidding. Plus, even though she loved that class she had never been exceptional at it so she wanted to at least once hand in something that might give her an A or even a A-Plus.
But no, she has to be left with the brat on one of her few days where she's not actually working as well. Anyone that has tried to write an essay like this on their breaks at their job which is at a supermarket in a mall knows that that is just doomed.
She needed this time and she couldn't even leave for some quiet because then he would left on his own and he had lost that trust when they all left one time and came back to the apartment totally wrecked. Also he could only have two friends in at once or they had to go out to play.
"Go away and watch Tv, I'm busy." Lilly muttered to him, as she shielded her screen from his eyes.
"Your not busy! Your just reading cartoons. Mom said not to bother you because you were doing homework, but I knew she wasn't right. I'm so going to tell when they get home and then they'll be really annoyed at you." Billy told her, as he saw the window open on the screen which had the web-comic Oh My Gods! on it.
"I was just taking a break. I was working on my essay before that. And it's not like I'm in High School anymore. Never forget that I'm sill older than you and in Collage." Lilly told him and did the immature thing of poking her tongue out at him as if that would prove her point at all.
"But you still live with us. And Mom always says if we live here we have to do as they say." Billy told her, all annoyed that she had reminded him that she was almost not a teen and he was only 10. Heh.
"So, that doesn't mean that I have to go by the rules that are made for a 10 year old. I'm trying my best in school, and your interrupting me doing that. Which I'm so going to tell them when they get home and who do you think they are gonna scold?"
