The Manchurian Candidate, Bednaya Nastya and Nodame Cantabile: get your damaged men here!

I've been rather neglectful of LJ lately. What with being exhausted, various RL commitments and similar, less lj time for me. Am sorry :)

First off, I finished Nodame Cantabile. It's not the kind of drama I have a lot (or any) meta for, but it was a great deal of fun. Two pet peeves: (1) whoeverplayed Straseman. I want to drown him. There is fun ( Read more... )

i am addicted to V/A. The actor who played stressman must have been on 17 kinds of drugs atonce. And I am so glad I am not the only one re: TMC.

That and having to stop watching are why I just did a massive, commentary heavy picspam instead of meta. I want mmmmooooooorrrrreeeeee.

And money for the manga.

I feel, though, that there's no way the manga version could live up to Eita...

The rocker violinist with bleached hair and the amazingly slashtastic concert scene with Tamaki Hiroshi. I mean, 99.9% of the time, even blatant potential for slash goes right over my head(I mean, I don't even see Clark/Lex most of the time...), but that...

Heh. I didn't see slash there, but then I thought the whole thing was so OTT, I wouldn't have noticed unless there was a pair of monkeys.

Vladimir is rocking that fur-trimmed overcoat.

Michael, on the other hand, needs to get a haircut, hippie! And also, perhaps, a chin implant.

He can't get a haircut! He seems to dislike to wear hats so haircuts are his only protection against cold Russian winter!

Yep, Stresemann was Japanese! He was played by Takenaka Naoto, who always plays an oddball. If you have seen Good Luck!! he played Captain Naito Jane (the guy who talks Chinese, Frenglish etc). Most of the time he reminded my of Cyrano because of the nose, but he is very comic-like in the manga as well, so he was true to its manga character.

Oh, I am sure he was true to character. I just found the character annoying. He was the most 'manga-like' of a lot of manga elements (i.e. the exaggerated gestures and punches) and so most annoying to me.

Yeah, the b&w gives it a very haunted, noirish feel.

And I feel horrible for Raymond, whose life got so utterly destroyed.
