Sweet 18, ep 1

Argh, stupid LJ explosion of ‘07. Does it mean from now on whenever I post about Sweet 18 I have to lock it? Because the heroine is a high school girl who gets married? OK, just for the record: The character is 18. The actress was in her mid twenties (and so was the actor). As far as I am aware, the characters of her and her husband are not related ( Read more... )

I find they're hot prosecutors because there tend to be only three acceptable occupations for kdrama heroes. One is being a boss of something, usually a hotel, sometimes a restaurant.. Another options are being a doctor, or a lawyer/prosecutor/anything high-positioned in law. (I suppose technically also being an actor or somebody else incredibly famous is okay. The most important thing is that you're richrichrich.)

Of course, one could also be a playboy of sorts, like Rain in Sang-doo or Eric in Que Sera Sera (though Tae Joo in QSS also has a 'regular' job).

But basically, hot prosecutors and hotel/company owners/managers - just your regular kdrama heroes. ;) The hotness is (usually) a given.

LOL, that makes sense. You forgot 'mob boss' though ;)

Sang-Doo is pretty low rent though :) And so is Rain's character in ijuksa. I guess being a boxer/fighter/bum is OK too as you migth be poor but yummily violent.

Ooh another hot lawyer type is JJH in Mawang. :)

I did forget hot mob boss, yes. I have run into sadly few. Though I do sort of prefer hot company/hotel owner type - so responsible but if in a tight spot he'll kick ass like a mobster for sure.

LOL. Now I am getting the urge to watch Hotelier.

Mobsters are few but uniformly kdrama-yummy, whether it's the kickass tortured mob boss played by Lee Wan in ToH, the kickass tortured mob boss played by Lee Seo Jin in Lovers or even the awesome lowlevel mob guy played by Lee Dong Gun in 'If in love...like them.'

Oh, we forgot Prince as an occupation. See Shin (or Yul). And then there are the Chefs. Heh.

Heeee, yes, you recorded ep.1 of Sweet 18 so perfectly. I watched the first episode because of a mad-rec from a friend, and it is so endlessly adorable.

If only all these good dramas did not pop up during FINALS time. So much woe.

(And I don't know WHY, but I started to rewatch Tree of Heaven yesterday, thinking maybe my reaction to it will be different the second time around, but...IT IS STILL JUST AS AWESOMELY GOOD. How is that possible?! Good thing Internet died last night, or I would have probably watched the ENTIRE thing and went to work today without sleep. So addictive.)

S18 is so incredibly adorable, it's like pink cotton candy. Good (if schitzo) alternate with ROCH.

ToH is something I am scared to rewatch because I;ll be a complete wreck if I do.

i love her character and how she's a leader of a gang of girls and they go clubbing and she gets busted for hiding in the men's room * gotta love that he gave her a lecture about being underage and going clubbing*

and the dinner between him and her with the parents about the arranged marriage was hillarious cause you can see that if he marries her it will be fun and vice versa...

is it just me or the gang leader guy who likes her is funnie in the way he chases after her???

The gang-leader after her is totally hilarious. And sorta cute. Heh.

In some ways, much more appropriate significant other to the little hoodlum than the very-responsible prosecutor, but not when the prosecutor is LDG and when the sheer thought of two such different individuals together fills me with glee.

Plus, he needs someone fun and she needs someone responsible. Heeeee.

I really enjoyed Sweet 18. I've read a lot of negative comments on it, but I thought it was just as you described - adorable and fluffy!

Yeah, it's not the deepest bestest thing out there, but it's light and fun.

Another drama to add to my list - you're killing me with so many good dramas!!

Speaking of - have you seen Pirates 3 yet? I saw it opening night & am dying to hear your thoughts on Will/Elizabeth.

Nope, haven't. Mr. Mousie wants to see it too so no go until the weekend. Really am dying to, though.
