On hotness...

Watched more of The Tudors and really. How can people object to it when there is so much hot male (and female if that's your thing) flesh about, either in period clothes or verrrrry naked? Seriously. I know I sound shallow but oh well. Plus, all that carping about JRM not looking like Henry. I find myself not caring when I stare at the cheekbones. ( Read more... )

y'know, my firstthough when I saw groping was Samurai Deeper Kyo, where Yuya would be happy if ALL he did was grope her upper leg. (Actually, SDK is a very good example of a manga that starts as a guilty pleasure then turns awesome once the mangaka gets settled in.)

The "no reddeming brain value" comment scares me.(And really, do people think Henry was BORN obese?)

Well, it's not stupid (like Sensual Phrase is stupid) but it's clearly all about emo and intrigue and nekkid not some philosophical meditationon life and death :)

Honestly I don't even thing The Tudors tried to market itself as being extremely realistic. It's no worse than those trashy Phillipa Gregory novels that everyone keeps saying are the best thing ever.

Let's put it this way, would we rather see a studly, beautiful, be-cheekboned Henry lolling about in a state of undress with the ladies or a weightier, hairy, greasy Henry lolling about in a state of undress. I think we all know the answer to that. One does not wish to go through bottles of brain bleach just for authenticity's sake.

Exactly.

Re: Henry. Seriously. Plus, I doubt he was born fat and with double chins...

Rome had no sex appeal? o_O Oh, well! More hot Romans for me. :D

The Tudors = nekkid pretty. I just have to turn off my history-loving brain and enjoy it.

I know everyone thinks James Purefoy is hot but he really didn't do it for me. Maybe because he was scummy but not charismatic scummy, if it makes sense?

I meant the tall (6'4"), burly, violent Titus Pullo. Sigh.
