Witch Yoo Hee

I rather hate Yoo Hee as a person. She is a total total bitch. And not like Bo-Ra in early eps of Snow Queen where she was bitchy but you could see the fragility and unhappiness and a little girl peeking out ( Read more... )

my hope for yoo hee is that we get to find out why she is the way she is... and hopefully that would make me like her... but on mong ryong when he said "i'll pay it off with my body" my mind was sooo in the gutter that if anyone got a peek it would be tooo embarassing...

i'm enjoying witch yoo hee... but yeah she's quite a bitch i'm just waiting for the reasons she is the way she is

Yeah, I hope they'll explain why she is the way she is. And I do hope she mellows.

LOL. I'll join you in the gutter :)

I'm sure Yoo Hee will change.

In real life I'm sure I'd hate her guts, but in a drama, I'm really liking her character because we get to see that she probably wouldn't be so screwed up if it weren't for her childhood (demanding father making her stop liking "feminine" things such as wanting to be a good mother leading her to become really "masculine" and needing Jae Hee's special counseling)

I feel pity for her because she needs to put up such a strong wall or else she'd fall to pieces. She even says herself that she may not look like it, but she really craves love more than anyone.

I hope she'll change. I find her amusing, but I really also want to smack her. I haven't seen her be weak or have chinks in her armor yet which is something I need to relate to her or to like her. She does amuse me already.

What is with all these dorama heroines turning to bi-atchs? I keep rooting for the second lead girl! Which is against drama conventions.Geez.
Yeh WYH is fantastic and she seriously is a bi-atch or has ISSUES. I think both. OMG Moo-Ryong (same name from DGCY?) is delicious sweet. And he's a chef! Yay!

LOL. His name in DGCH is Mong-Ryong which is really really close. I don't really like the second girl because she doesn't have much personality. Yoo Hee needs to mellow before I root for her though :)

What is with all the hotties cooking lately? Making me hungry.

I rather like her as she is, uber bitch and all, and I can quite identify with her. In fact as the subs get released and I actually start understanding what the pretty people are saying, some of the kdrama conventions and gender roles start to annoy me, because I have My Real Life glasses on, and if someone I would ever think of dating said to me, "Change everything before you can even consider someone looking at you in an attractive light," I'd deck him and be out of there so fast....

but again, RL glasses. Drama wise, I get why the things have to happen and what serves as character foil. Mostly, I get that she doesn't suffer fools gladly, and her secretary is kind of an idiot - but the other stuff is just not having very good interpersonal skills at all - living her life by a strict code of lists and such

"Change everything before you can even consider someone looking at you in an attractive light,"Haven't gotten to that point, but honestly, while generally a bad thing to say, it's totally true in her case. Also, if she can dish it out and try to boss, correct and insult everything, she should be able to take it, too. And hey, if it's after anyone encountering her for more than five minutes, I am totally on the side of the speaker ( ... )

I see WYH in a way as the role reversal of the classic kdrama set-up; the cold, mean dude who lets no emotions show and the poor but lovely, big-hearted, spunky girl are reversed into nice poor guy with awesome personality and cold, mean, awful lady who lets no emotions show.

So it won't be about Moo-ryong changing *her*, it's about discovering who she really is behind that awful character. My money's on her father raising her to become like that - she obviously doesn't like him and it's very possible it's because he's the reason for her becoming such a cold bitch.

Of course, it could be me reading too much into this at this point but honestly? I refuse to believe anybody with healthy family background becomes like that. Especially when this is a drama where everything ties together.

Yeah, I do think it's her Dad's fault.

Re: gender reversals. You are totally right. Some of the cold guys do change though in dramas (even Shin melted, rather) and she is so extreme she will probably be one of those, at least somewhat. Yay :)

Hahahahah, re: P.S. I KNOW WHAT YOU MEAN. I was like, "Damn, that early? I approve!". What a disappointment when he meant actual ..work. Boo.

I like Yoo-hee because I see her incredible bitchiness as hiding unbelievably low self-esteem. She is *awful*, no doubt about it, but it's definitely "curable".

Poor Moo-ryong, though! Before she turns into a human being, he's stuck with a real nasty piece of work. :D

I know. Come on, you need $40,000 this badly, I know how you could earn it :)

Re: Yoo Hee. She amuses me a lot, but if I think about her as a person, I want to strangle her. But hence the amusement, I guess.
