After finding that watching Full House in too large a swathe was inducing fits of freaking out at the TV (OMG! I am going to hyperventilate with that show), I went to B&N to hang out.
Specifically, I went to check out Basara manga. The store didn't have it (I am going to go to a better stocked one later in the week), but I did end up reading Hana

Yay! to ES being good...it's...somewhere...near the top of the list.
There is kissing in Hana Kimi? Sorry Tenryu, you just got bumped to #2(they just traded places, really)
And yes, Sano is incredibly hot(actually, I think every Sano I'be encountered in manga is hot...my love of Sano in Kenshin knows no bounds)
And Toya was the first manga guy to make me go "hey, he's hot..."

Yup, kissing is in Vol 2. YUM.
I love Sano in RK too (though I am an Aoshi and Kenshin girl in that one).
And Toya...phew!!!!

When he saves Mizuki from the date rape later on
*dies*Can't wait. I just started vol 3 and am looking forward to going to a coffee place and just bingeing reading it.
I do love that Sano couldn't care less if people will think he is wussy or gay or whatever. He is just going to do what he thinks he should, and he will hang out with Mizuki and that's the end of it.
I've only barely met Nanba yet so no opinion on him one way or another. But angst is always good.

That's the best thing about Hana Kimi. While it's shojo, there isn't a lot of shmaltz to it. Sano acts like a guy who loves a girl very much without going over the top. He's subtle in his affection, and I think that's what makes the very cliche formula of Hana Kimi work so well.

I love how confident in himself Sano is. He's so secure that it doesn't matter that the other team thinks he's gay. Not only that, even though he knows he can't say anything to Mizuki, he still lets his reputation be damaged and takes the mockery just to be with her... and he doesn't care what anyone says.

Both characters don't seem to be extravagantly OTT or anything like that and I love it.
And as to Sano...all I can say is...whoa.
