4. Though I have a great nostalgic love for the original Superman movie, and was pretty darn impressed with Batman Begins, I think when it comes right down to it, the Spiderman movies are my favorite superhero flicks. I haven't seen 2 recently enough to say which I liked better, but I really just loved Tobey Maguire for the part. I don't think they could have gotten anyone who better satisfied my notion of Peter Parker. (I'm a little iffy on Kirsten Dunst as MJ, but she'll do, I guess.)
8. I took it as sort of a horrified resignation - as though at that moment he both fully understood the evil of the situation and decided it was already too late for him. (And he believed that, believed that he was irredeemable and unable to turn back, until... well, you know.) It was just fabulous. I loved that scene. Guh.
Yes, I love TM as Peter. He has a certain sweet dorkiness that really fits. Love, love, love. It's really funny because I saw TM in "Wonderboys" and I didn't see what the fuss was because I thought "he looks stoned" (As my husband never tires of pointing out, he was supposed to be that way in the movie, but I just thought: come onnn!) Then saw Spidey and went: "whoa. He was acting in Wonderboys. He isn't stoned" Yeah. I can be dense sometimes.
