I have just finished Adrian Phoenix's A Rush of Wings, the first book in The Maker's Song, a series of dark urban fantasy novels (they are not romances, though there is a romantic thread), and I need more asap (luckily, three more books in the series are out ( Read more... )

Good news about you getting a Goodreads accounts!

This series sounds mighty interesting. I'm still reading Emperor's Edge (I know, I'm reading at a snail pace. But I'm on book 4 now!) but this could be my next reading adventure.

Because-->
(Though my favorite part of the book is when he does finally snap under all the stimuli and temporarily reverts into the part of him that is the Government-created psychopath and we read things from his POV).

Sounds totally like my thing.

Let me know if you check out Phoenix's books - I happen to really like them, though I am delaying reading the fourth one since things were left relatively happy at the end of third one and I am dreading what comes next.

Well, I've tried the first book but couldn't get into it.

The first chapter went down fine when we were in Heather's head but then the scene moved to Club Hell and I went Huh?!?

I found the author's style confusing and didn't like the multiple point of views.

I might try again later it you tell me it's really worht it and things get better though.

I'd probably say to stay away then because she loves multiple POVs which doesn't bother me but I know drives some people insane (me, I loathe first-person narratives, but multiple povs leave me just fine :P)

I remember reading A Rush of Wings a long time ago and really liking the writing style. After reading your comments, I kind of want to go back and reread it. Or maybe I should just buy the sequel....
