Ah, I remember Paris's book! That was some serious crack. The whole Lords of the Underworld series is, actually. I need to catch up on the latest books. I'd stopped at Paris's story. I want to read Gideon's so bad. You know, the one with the blue hair and who can only tell lies. I bet it's going to be uber angsty.
This book is ridiculously additive - the amount of angst can keep a vicarious emotional vampire like me happy for ages (between my reading list and Spartacus, I am pretty much wallowing in a sea of sexy manpain). I really need to read more in this series - I realized I have the second book (about Lucien) on my kindle and had for ages, and now it's moving to the top. Gideon's book is out and now that you mention it might be uber angsty, I need it! I need the whole series, but I am going to try to ration, seeing how backlogged my reading list is.
I think I like Showalter a lot better than Cole - I have a lot less issues with her stuff for some reason.
Lucien's book is pretty good, IIRC (which I might not, actually). Angst galore, of course. It can't be any other way with a hero possessed by the demon of Death.
You're wise to ration yourself. Your backlogged list will thank you and you'll avoid going on an overdose of demon-possessed heroes. I love series such as this one in a guilty pleasure kind of way but the books can seem a bit repetitive when read back to back.
Yeah, I really need to work through my backlog in an orderly fashion, but I tend to be prone to binges and it's hard to fight it.
These books are serious crack - I mean, I am still in the middle of Paris' book and some secondary character, who I am sure will get his own book, is being tortured in hell by demon minions of the demon inside him and it's all so utterly insane and I love it.
