Books, TV, etc...

Here is what I am currently watching, as a heads-up about what the LJ will be about for a bit:

WESTERN TV:

Arrow - I am way behind, and plan to catch up as soon as my Spartacus binge is over.
Burn Notice - season 6. I enjoy it and watch it with Mr. Mousie but am unlikely to posa about it, tbh.
Chuck - am on season 5. I won't be posting much about ( Read more... )

It really did not do it for me - I am getting too old and cranky for cutesy.

Whatever plastic surgery YSY has been binging on, he is destroying his looks, IMO. He was very cute in Baker King but by now he looks like a cartoon.

I used to love twdramas and romcoms and all that, but the older I get, the less I like it. I found myself wishing the gladiators from Spartacus invaded FBND and started some good old-fashioned orgies and slaughter :)

Have you seen the fall pilot lineup yet? This is the CW lineup:

Quite some variety! I'm also interested in Fox's pilot of the YA novel Delerium.

There is a whole bunch that looks good:

* The Hundred - I am a sucker for anything postapocalyptic
* Oxygen - it sounds like Roswell: Next Generation, and I was a Roswell obsessee..
* Reign - because of the costumes. Though if they manage to give Mary Queen of Scots a believable love interest, I will faint.
* The Selection - the book was trashy fun
* The Tomorrow People - like X-Men for teens :)

The latter will probably be cheesy (have you read the book? It's pretty cheesy) but I can see it being good fun, if they don't go too much for a love triangle - I hate those.

Wow, you've already read Wicked Nights! I'm impressed ^^ Showalter can be a lot of fun. She's one of those prolific authors who have written tons of books and who have countless on-going series. When someone writes at that speed, they can only put out what I call "cookie books" but they can be pretty enjoyable.

I really need to try Loving the Marquess. That's the book you told me about, right? And it reminds me that I've read a book with pretty much the same set up not too long ago, only the hero is the best friend who is asked to sleep with the married heroine. He's been in love with the heroine for years and he's so conflicted and angsty about the request. Can't remember the author or the name of the book though.

Re-tv show. I'm way behind on Arrow as well. So behind that I don't feel any pressing urge to catch up. I'll wait until you post about it and decide whether to pick it up again or not.

Wow, you've already read Wicked Nights! I'm impressedMuch as I'd love to, I cannot watch Spartacus every waking free moment, because between the blood and nudity, Baby Mousie would be scarred for life. So when I am minding her in her room, I read :) (Btw, the shipping in Spartacus is pretty much utterly amazing and with normally-only-in-fanfic levels of awesome angsty crack, but I am hesitant to recommend it to you because I am sure everyone will die at the end, also not sure how your blood and guts tolerance is. But it's seriously someone's fanfic brought to screen, and not just in shipping - no wonder I like it ( ... )

Found the book! I went through my Calibre library and checked out a couple of potential titles and I got lucky. It's Waking up with the Duke by Lorraine Heath ( ... )

I am unfamiliar with Heath, so I'll get a sample from Kindle and see if I like it. I always am fond of cracktastic plots :)

Re: dead actors/singer/etc. I get that same way occasionally, though not most of the time - I cannot watch anything with park Yong Ha, for example. For some reason, nobody else, Western or drama, who has died, prevents me from watching. It's odd.

Nope. Too much procedural, not enough romance.

I m watching arrow, too. Nice, but not obsessed with it.
I read your posts about romantic novels, have you read any Sylvia day's books? Its more on the erotic side, but they are amazing. Especially her best seller crossfire trilogy
