Well, the Dwarfs in this aren't particularly short. And they did change heights once in a while: I swear Thorin's height was a foot different in different scenes! The Hobbit was made for slashers: there aren't any women at all, so they don't even have to kill them off/write them out!
If you fancy Kili, you should probably watch some more of him in Being Human - he plays a vampire who's flatmates with a werewolf and a ghost.
(I bet he is totally the dwarf who is going to get the elf Evangeline Lilly love interest next movie. I'd wager money on it - Thorin is too iconic to fuck around with, but Kili is the most likely candidate)
Also was it just me, or did 48 fps just feel a lot less cinematically epic sometimes? I mean, it's more real-lifelike and the scenery is still gorgeous, but in some places, it looked weirdly....ordinary. The battles were fantastic though - I loved every one of them.
All the shipping has me a little worried, though. Like you, I only remember the general story-line of the Hobbit. But I do remember that not all characters make it to the end, you know? Even if I can't remember who....
