jagkadskas this sounds perfect. as is i don't want it, but if these two were doing the entire thing i would be ALL OVER THIS BABY. it sounds like WISFC's opening eps, they took my breath away. their age (and the fact that they can act!) would make this set-up even better. CURSE EVERYTHING.

I get what you mean by emotional detachment from Nice Guy, I love the show and I still enjoy watching it because it's obvious quality writing/acting/cinematography but at this point SJK is the only thing that's keeping me emotionally invested. I'll keep watching till the end because the scenes are masterful and very very well done but for me there's something missing-- I don't feel the same intense emotion/need I felt for say, the OTP of ALTK ( ... )

NG is excellently done, but I wouldn't care if they all got murdered at the end, and that is not good. I am not sure if it's because I don't find the characters relatable.

I love the KnT/KC comparison. And yes with you on the fact that Moon and Christmas both were dramas were the childhood portions were magical and the rest not so much (though I did enjoy Xmas overall).

Those 2 kids are amazing. And I definitely share the same sentiment with you mousie, I want to see more of them. I think I was quietly bawling for that poor poor girl. BTW I'm sooo confused with JW's family background I think I need a rewatch.

The background is as follows:

JW's Mom is (I assume) dead and he has a stepmother and a younger halfsister. His Dad is the evil chairman who was in jail for some white collar crime and is now out and trying to get inheritance from his rich father. Rich father, aka JW's grandpa, is married to the woman who chairman is terrorizing and grandpa had a son with her (who will be portrayed by YSH), who is the kid who is escaped and in hiding. There is a fight over money.

But yes, this is amazing.

Thanks for the explanation mousie. How tragic is it that SY has a witch of a mother and JW on the other hand has an evil scheming father. This is gonna be good.

Yeah, I foresee a fun time hating the parents. Though at least JW likes his - SY's mother OTOH - no words.

I'm still enjoying Nice Guy, surprisingly enough hahaa. I think it would have benefited from being a bit shorter though, thank God they didnt go for that extension. I feel like the drama drags sometimes and I want MORE to happen but I still have no idea where the drama is going, will they end up together? will maru die? what will happen to jae hee? etc and even tho everyone is so dark and damaged I want to know their fates in the end and I hope at least Maru and Eun Ki can find peace even if they dont end up together, its probably too late for Jae hee tho I really wonder what'll become of her kid....and I do relate a little with the characters but obv not the revenge schemes and amnesia parts XD ( ... )

I don't think this will get as dark as byakuyakou - no necrophilia for kdramaworld :)

Nice Guy - for whatever reason, I am bored now

Dangermousie - I think you're suffering from angst overload, as am I. Watching so many angsty dramas has got my anxiety level hitting the roof. I, for one, am only reading NG recaps, and IMY is definitely on my to watch list.

That could very well be - detachment as survival mechanism. That would explain why I am not detached with IMY - we are only at the start, so the leads are safe.

Does this make any sense to you? The very thing that attracts me to kdramas is what keeps me away from them once it gets to be too much to handle: ANGST. It may be because its delivered in large doses (too much, too soon, and some characters have Angst as their middle name). I have also stopped watching many a drama and go back to them when I feel less invested and able to handle the outcome. Live watching is also affecting me so once Five Fingers is over, I'm going to Kdrama Rehab 'cause I'm still suffering withdrawal symptoms from FAITH (fave OTP ever).

BTW, I'm totally enjoying Full House 2 for its fluffiness. Fluffy dramas are great because even their angst factor is light and sometimes enjoyable. :-)

No, it totally makes sense. For me, it depends on my mood.
