If there is one thing watching the first 5 eps of the daily tVn drama Glass Mask confirmed to me, is that Seo Woo is a Goddess. Why she picked a daily drama of all things, I will never know.

Hm... She should get together with Yoo Ji Ho.

LOL true. Though this family makes Ji Ho's family seem awesome - at least 'mom' treated him well until recently (even with evil motives, but he didn't know that) and he believed she saved him from fire until recently. And little psycho bro wasn't around much...

Seo Woo has a new drama? I may actually have to jump back into kdramas if that's the case. That girl is like a siren call.

She's awesome, I just wished she picked dramas that appealed to me more.

OMG. That's Park Jin Woo! Damn, now I'm actually tempted to try Glass Mask despite my abhorence of makjang revenge plots and daily dramas. Why, why would Park Jin Woo reappear after 3-4 years on a cable daily?!

And Seo Woo's adopted family sounds about as sane as the family of the May Queen heroine.

They actually have got a surprisingly good cast for a cable daily. No idea why. Honestly, why did all these people sign up for it?

I guess even tvN with its track record couldn't keep away from the awful makjang dailies, huh? I can understand Lee Ji Hoon and Park Jin Woo in this, to a certain extent - they're both making comebacks after a long time and they were always B-list at best, so dailies are their best bet for lead/second-lead roles. Actually, now that I think about it, both of them have been in terrible daily dramas before - Lee Ji Hoon was in You are My Destiny and I Can't Stop, and Park Jin Woo was in I'll Give You Everything (so nonsensical).

Seo Woo is the biggest puzzle to me - at one stage she looks like she was heading for BIG THINGS after bursting onto the scene with Tamra, the Island, which was critically acclaimed despite terrible ratings. But after Cinderella's Sister, she's been on a steady downwards trajectory. I mean, 1 weekend makjang family drama, 2 dailies and a 2-episode cable short drama? Whyyy.

Flames of Ambition was clearing 20% at the end though...so weekend makjang dramas remain loved in Korea

LOL! You need stamina to watch dailies, especially if they happen to be swimming in makjang like this one seems to be.

I've only watched one daily which wasn't a sitcom and that was quite enough, even though the plot was more or less sane and I liked most of the characters, plus the OTP was adorable.

I really can't - the running time is equivalent to a 60 ep 'proper' drama. Seeing that I want to boil most of these people in oil, I am not sticking around.

Yeah, how you feel about the characters does definitely matter in a long drama.

E.g I love ILiCDD but then I love the whole cast of characters... well, I love everything about it actually, LOL! It may well end up being my favourite drama this year and it's a 170 epi sitcom.... without subs for the most part. XD Somehow never pegged that ever happening.

Yeah, I don't get it. I'd have thought FoD would have been enough makjang for a lifetime.
