Freaking LJ now won't take you to you specific page for a post when you click the LJ cut but instead opens it up on my main LJ page. I don't want that. It fucks up the formatting of my main page as I mainly use cuts to post humongous pics. It also prevents from easy commenting right there. I found a work-around but it's a giant pain. Ugh, WTF is

I was getting pretty close to fed up with LJ and I think this might be the final straw. I have a permanent account so my money is lost either way, but if the functionality annoys me, there is no point using this platform as opposed to something else.

I signed up for a WordPress account recently, but I'm finding it a bit overwhelming; there's a bunch of options for me to play around with that distract me, and I just don't post a lot. It's not that I don't like it, because I do. The level of customization they offer for your blog works, for me, they offer a decent amount of media storage for a free account (Not that I really need it), and I'm really liking their widgets (especially the spam blocker). It'll just take me some time to adjust. And I do think WordPress would really work for your blogging needs should you decide to move there; you could make a lot of use of what the site has to offer.
Bleh, I don't know if I just made sense. Sorry about that.

Do this:
< a href= " URL of your master post - you'll have to add it in when you have it ">< b > ( wjat you would have wanted to call your cut )< /b> < /a href>< font color="#092531" >< lj-cut text=" ">< /font>
Get rid of all the spaces that don't need to be there in the above, pick the font color that will make the cut blend into the background for you (i.e. the same color as your main page - you can find the numeric value in your layout page), and just have two spaces between the quotes in lj cut text command.

I use wordpress websites, but I've never thought of using it as a blog - it's a lot of fiddling around and coding to make it look good, and then it just isn't as easy to do average blogging things like switching posts to FO or using custom filters.
