May Queen was always billed as a 32-episode drama. I'm not sure where you read it was 50 eps, but its not one of those long weekenders. I also have no clue how the drama is getting Hae Joo-Kang San together in the remaining time left. I wonder if this will be yet another recent addition to the reversal of fortune trends in changing up the OTP.
And from what I read, Jae Hee and Kim Jae Won are equally big stars in Korea and this was always intended as a co-male lead situation. We keep referring to Jae Hee as the second male lead bc (1) KJW has a bigger and more vocal fanbase, and (2) JH's character is not supposed to end up with the girl. But interviews I read about the production said both male leads had the same amount of screen time. And I even venture to say JH's character has had more screentime since the childhood portions. Sorry you're out, but I'll update until my ship sinks and then you can get back in!
I guess I was thinking of it like Giant and EoE, both of which were billed for 50 eps. If it's only 32 eps, their plotting/pacing is horrific! Where is the revenge? By anyone? And all those draggy kid eps! Wow.
I am glad if your OTP works out! I was thinking 'hey, at least Koala will be a happy marsupial!' :) I have been the beneficiary of the OTP reversal too often (including in East of Eden, where I desperately shipped SSH and LYH for episodes and episodes without any hope, only to get what I wanted after all), to begrudge this situation...
LOL, this is my long overdue payback since in EoE I totally did not ship Grace and Dong Chul and was totally pissed that the original LDH OTP did not pan out. I agree that stuff like this happens and its not a big deal. I go with the flow, and for every OTP that works out for me, I expect another to sink like a rock. The good drama overlords giveth and taketh away in equal measure. :-D But this one makes me totally happy!
See, I still remember being so obsessed and despairing over Grace/DC :P After I got that, I can't really ever be bitter about plot shenanigans :)
I am not too upset about MQ in any event - I mean, if Arang runs off with Joo Wal in the last ep of AatM, I'll be livid, but this - it's not a drama that evokes a super-strong feeling in me.
I understand how you feel, I'm thinking that maybe I should wait... because I suffered a lot watching Feast of god. The couple I was shipping got together but it was so frustrating and I end up regreting watching that drama because even though my couple ended together the ending was not good enough and it didn't make up for all frustration I felt while waiting for the couple get together. And 30 seconds wasn't enough for me ......
But I still think we never know...... they slept together but ....... I still think KS can get the girl.
Did they do the same thing in Dream High? Where the second lead guy ended up with the main girl or was it meant to be that way from the start? Do you know mousie?
I don't have any hard evidence either way, but from the way it was written at the start (and the way even in the second half when they had scenes that were filmed early because they were location shoots, they were all Teac/Suzy shippy), I believe they did switch the OTP when fangirls went nuts for Kim Su Hyun. I was PISSED off!!!!!
