I apologize for a lack of replies and a (relative) lack of posts - I am still recovering so my energy level is horrendously low. I promise to catch up by the weekend. I swear!
What I love about Eun Oh as a character is that he seems to respect Arang. That is something that is, sadly, missing from most kdrama heros. They're head over heels for the girls, they want to possess them, they would rescue them from any dangerous situation, but they don't actually respect the women's right to choose the terms of her involvement in the relationship. This is often most disturbing to me whenever sex/desire is involved (with the woman saying "no," sometimes coyly, sometimes not, and the man pressing forward anyway). I usually ignore it, because...I dunno, kdramas are so damn entertaining, and watching them is a little like falling in love, and all that. But WOW it is refreshing to see a hero who is in touch with his own emotions and who trusts and respects the heroine enough to give her space when she asks for it. I can't WAIT for Arang's walls to fall down and for her to let herself feel how much she's fallen for Eun Oh.
I'm so glad we don't have to worry about EO having to kill Arang. But the one thing he has over Mu Young is his love for Arang vs his love for his mother. And I'm betting that's what'll tip the balance. If it was just "kill your mom for the good of all" he might falter like MY did. But "kill your mom or lose the girl you love in a truly horrific way"? That'll make a huge difference.
