Trauma and love - seems to be my book theme this week

I have been obsessively rereading Paullina Simons' Tatiana and Alexander trilogy (The Bronze Horseman, The Bridge to Holy Cross (also known as Tatiana & Alexander), and The Summer Garden). If I make a list of my top 10 books, this trilogy would definitely be on it (hmmm, perhaps I should make a list). I am a coward so on reread I skip all the ( Read more... )

After I saw that you were reading Where She Went, I remembered that it's been on my back-burner for the longest time. I've been so scared to read it because I heard its prequel If I Stay was a tearjerker. Plus if the prequel had a good ending why was there a sequel? Anyway, I finally read both of them today. And I regret wasting so much time not reading them. If you haven't read If I Stay, then get on it pronto because you'll probably understand Where She Went a lot better :)

I will! I want to get what makes Mia tick because I didn't care for her in Went - who dumps someone without even a word.

You should read If I Stay, it was one of the best YA novels I've read in a long time. I'm glad that the sequel is good! Now I'll have to go and get it!

Hmmm, I will. I wasn't too fond of Mia so maybe the first book will make me happier with her.

Well, I'll be adding both series to my list to read, especially since you compared the latter to Before Sunrise/Sunset (some of my favorite movies!). Thanks for the recs!

The Simons books are beyond amazing.

I enjoyed Where She Went but, warning, it's nowhere near as good as Before Sunrise/Sunset, which was amazing.

Beautiful quote. I haven't re-read the Bronze Horseman series in so long, but I - like you - keep paper copies, because I love to own the books I adore.

Yes, I love my kindle for easy access but for books I truly love, I need paper.

I reread these entirely too much.
