3 took me by surprise! I wasn't expecting the funnies to be still fresh and funny.

I was expecting pure sitcom with fluffy angst all along with the whimsical trailers so I'm happily satisfied. But I totally didn't expect the little sniffles this ep. It's mostly PYC being good and nailing his scenes. I'm very bored by the evil fam members though and I find LTS cringeworthy, giving me the same boring evil smizing face the whole ep. I'm not sure why I haven't lost all hope on JYM's evilsis though. Somehow she still comes off as believably a (rotten) person and can go somewhere interesting when written so cliched.

Yeah, I can't say I was expecting much plot either. The trailers were pretty good at conveying the feel of the drama.

All the family is boring - the Grandma (who should just go back to Brilliant Legacy), the cuckoo aunt, the smarmy one-note Dad, Tae Mu (you are right, LTS isn't doing much, but, tbh, there is not much for him to do), boring stepmom of HJM even JYM (she's believably bad but also one note). I wish they'd all time travel to another drama.

I think PYC is going to turn out one of the rare idols who's genuinely good on-screen.

Exactly! I zoned out and expecting the ep to be nth more than soso when it started with the richies. That Yakult joke totally saved that zzzzz scene later on. I'm only paying attention to the JF4, don't even care much about modern day HJM . Although she has cute chem with PYC, her side of the cuteness is almost entirely by association next to that goofball of cute. It's fine she's not asked to do more for now, but whenever she had to Emote + Aegyo, she went overboard. Shame on her, when PYC makes those transitions seemingly effortless. I'm surprised he's improved so much.

I'll watch on just for PYC alone, obviously. I like Prince has normal dude hormones, not the brightest bulb but not full on spoiled silly. It makes sense he's so obsessed with his dead pretty rotten princess, yet we can see his slow little head adapting and making himself useful just enough.... even if it's for omurice. That is so making sense for a grown boy to experience a growling tummy for the first time in his life.

I disagree on HJM but word word word to everything else. I really love he's developed a ridiculous sweet tooth. Watch out for cavities, princey!

when the drama isnt focusing on park ha and the boys+prince i get super bored. i dont care about se na or tae mu or grandma or auntie or whoever. but everything else is super cute and fun. omg the prince;s sweet tooth is so cute! i hope the calligraphy comes back, because he can make good money in modern day with that skill and its about time he starts earning his keep! the relationship he has with park ha is adorable, she's seriously like his mom right now which is extra amusing when you factor in that she IS his noona. i'm not sure how she'll be seeing this haughty goof as romance material but hey it worked for kate and leopold.(omg what a stupid move that was) also i have nicknamed the joseon power rangers blue is brawny, yellow is sparkly, and green is brainy/smarty. with the prince earning the nickname "haughty" feel free to make hottie puns. lol (Its a shame i have reservations about mickey the actor because he's quite lovely here. oh well.)

Loving Rooftop Prince, its one goofy movie with tons of goofballs & Micky Yoochun totally rocks the Joseon Crown Prince stranded in 21st century South Korea role. Despite the laughter or maybe because of it, I think its a great way to mash up romance & a murder mystery from the past & the future in a drama.I'm in for the long ride until ep. 20. And here's my fearless forecast, Lee Gak & Park Ha for the win back in Joseon. Thanks for posting this.
