Yes. Plus he's also hot and aaaaaaangsty! (Which I think he was in history anyway, if his wiki pic and the fact that he was on the losing side, are anything to go by).

At least now I know where the author of the bizaree YA novel Blood Ninja (whose protagonist is a ninja vampire) got his idea!

But if the makers of this anime really put in an effort, I am sure they could have made him a pirate too!

(I have a feeling if the real Hijikata saw what the manga/anime makers have been turning him into recently, some people would have sustained pretty fatal sword injuries).

The main girl was too Mary Sue-ish for my taste (probably because this was originally a video game?) and I gave up after 2 episodes but the Shinsengumi is very pretty here.

I think any story which has a girl being a part of Shinsengumi is bound to be Mary-Suish :P I mean, Shinsengumi are about the last bunch of people I see having a gal to pal around with!

I am all for Hijikata/Okita (is this RPShipping? :P) but my craving for that got satisfied by Peacemaker.

This seems familiar. I think I've seen the first season but not the second one. I don't remember it being very shippy though. But it's been a while since I've seen it. I might need to watch the second season and the OVA. Know of any good website I could get it from by any chance?
