EXCUSE ME?!

I am on episode 3 of Sealed with a rapey Kiss and unless I started spontaneously hallucinating, our 'hero' (I use the term loosely) just told the heroine that if she wants him to stop bankrupting her best friend's family as some sort of "I am pissed at heroine, so I'll get to her that way" strategy, he is willing ( Read more... )

rant, help send help, sealed with a kiss, rape, i hate the lead, doramas4

I'm mostly alarmed because I remember watching Hawick Lau in a super long running family soap opera back in the 90s that ran for years, and he was the innocent sweet youngest son of the family who had the same gf for years and never really got his own plotline. I'm having a hard time reconciling him with this character...

I've seen him in a period drama Scent of Fragrance and he was such a total sweetheart in that one and all of a sudden it's like he's got a creepy rapey twin!

Tbh, leaving aside the merits of the hero as a person, Hawick is doing a pretty phenomenal job acting in this - I may be repulsed by the character but he's also fascinating and very well-acted (and from what I can tell, very much outside Hawick's normal repertoire). But still! I may approve of the actor's acting chops and still want his character to die a fiery death.

I shall cleanse my palace by rewatching the trailer of Ru Yi, his upcoming drama with rl-gf Yang Mi - not only does it look gorgeous, his character actually appears sweet and awesome in that one.

A Kindred Spirit? That was a biggg part of my childhood! I still have a soft spot for Hawick Lau because of that. The theme song still bring back memories. Haha

This is EXACTLY the moment I burn this drama and throw in my puke-ridden white towel and go wash my brain with yhdrochloric acid.

You watch on, take one for the measly TeamHeroDie!Die!DIE!!! The world is 'promising' us, if you turn a blink eye at this stretch, u will fall in love with hero and OTP shipping them at the end.

See, I can get that some people, men and women, have humiliation/dominance sexual fantasies. Fine and good, to each their own. Even non-consent fantasies are OK as long as they remain fantasies.

But that's for erotica simply to get your jollies off, nothing else. As a romance story where I am supposed to buy them as a romantic couple and root for them - how on earth!!!!!! And I am going to judge the hell out of a hero who thinks it's OK to take out his bad mood on a woman by blackmailing her into group sex hookerdom!

Yeah, I am going to be shipping them. Shipping for her to stab him with rusty scissors and dance in his blood.

I lost faith in humankind, at least the Cdrama watching pool every step of the way with anything concerning this. The original pulp novel being regarded as a worthy sweeping angsty romance 'oh they r match made by TPTB/brilliant writer by title being their acronym wowsa, how clever!' and thus qualify for a TV adaptation and the subsequent massiveness of peeps honestly treating this as one lovely shippable OTP at the end of it ( ... )

I am finishing ep 7 and still hate him and want him to die. I think we are supposed to think it's better that he liked her first before he knew whose kid she was and that his revenge was driven by feeeeeelings (once he found out who she was) but the thing is, it's not, it makes him more of a psycho! Nobody tells him 'you are being an abusive rapist creep!' Not his bro-in-law who's in love with heroine, not his Mom, nobody. I mean, he told her to strip or he'll call the cops and she did it while bawling. That's rape. The only one who yelled at him was former servitor and only because heroine is unworthy. WTF!!!! Fine, her friends don't know but everyone else does. And her bestie might not know exactly what's going on but she should realize there are red flags of an abusive relationship and she does nothing ( ... )

there are people actually find this character sweet and complex. I just find this guy a freaking psycho. I don't care if harwick act in here. Didn't this remind you of old harlequin romance. I got seriously sick when I watch episode 1. So to save myself from high blood pressure. I watch something else.
