I am way behind but I thought it was sweet and low-key. I am a huge Kim Tae Hee fan though.

you forgot the soundtrack of this scene: it was that hardcore that the episode's 8 "HARDCORE" (look for it you will keep you distracted for days) will seem just another episode on Playboy channel ( ... )

I don't know about UK but in the US, teachers often coach too (though are not necessarily phys ed teacher). And it's the other way around - you are a math/history/etc teacher first and the coaching just goes with the job.

Watching this is so fun. I'm glad I gave it a chance. Minyuhsubs released up too ep 8 now, they are so quick! I am enjoying Chi Soo and his ridiculous antics. He's such a temperamental childish prissy drama queen and that makes for alot of fun to watch. That said I'm not entirely sure why Eun Bi would pick him over familiar drama free funny absurdly tall super good looking will totally cook for her sweetheart kang hyuk. or maybe thats just because kang hyuk is so very much MY type. But I am getting second lead syndrome like crazy even though Eun Bi is alot funnier and more intense around Chi Soo so I guess thats why they are the OTP but kang hyuk is so delightfully weird and charming to me that I can't even be bothered with Chi Soo! lol but forget Eun Bi I want Kang Hyuk for myself 8D

See, the chef is a great bf in rl but in drama terms, i am very not interested in him - not enough conflict and intensity for me. all yours :)

Imagine chef as a 12 grader... that was my husband at the first date ...while I was in my 3rd year at uni and intern at a high-school teaching math. I didn't even consider him as boyfriend material no matter the sweet heart, while I was totally Cha Chi Soo female version

Kang Hyuk is everyone's boyfriend - not too nosy, funny, good looking(at least in the girl's eyes), ordinary guy( personality wise), with a normal job (pphhlease how many of us are married with chabeols), his courtship for the girl is as normal as can be (flowers when needed, food when needed, sometimes in time for rescue), he has his oddities but who doesn't have some smurfs on his/her brain?, he tells the right thing every time without being over the top and CAN COOK.

but this is Cha Chi Soo's story and we can't deny his reining over the drama even though all time he is over the top, in certain situation he does exactly the worst thing he could do, he is cheesy and a drama Queen and VOILA the mighty CONFLICT that makes a drama a DRAMA.

I like 99 days: it has kdrama vibes with all the feelings a jdrama can offer: crazy job, crazy sister, crazy boss(es), crazy princess not quite in distress but somehow manages to be rescued by the other guy but the fun is that she can rescue herself from her bodyguards without problems ( the hero and his teammate) , somehow a birth mystery ( this is kdrama all the way), cute kids and symbols( one is Cactus - hero's nickname given by her manager - but in the same time it is a phallic symbol and the fear of a relationship ( at this moment I think her manager's fear that her star could have one any time ( ... )

You will be impressed by Kim Tae Hee's smooth Japanese. If you understand a bit of Korean and Japanese, there's also much fun in picking out her sudden switch between the two languages. We have stiff actor but adorable Taecyeon. And we have the extremely charismatic Nishijima Hidetoshi as the lead.

Definitely worth a watch!

Flower Shop and Star99 are the only two shows I'm following right now. Love them both, although I have to say Taecyeon's facial expression is unfortunately limited to 2 kinds in Star99. Oh well, at least he provides some eyecandy in addition to Nishijima!
