Love Never Dies - Thailand does Twilight

Sep 23, 2011 18:48

Well, not really, since the heroine is no doormat and hero is not a perpetual teenager who sparkles. But never let facts interfere with a snappy post title :P

I started watching ep 13 of Bu Bu Jing Xin but had to stop about ten minutes in because seeing Eight, Ruoxi and the rest of them so happy and well-adjusted was making me bawl ( Read more... )

bu bu jing xin, thai drama, youtube4, screencaps4, vamps who do not sparkle, love never dies, mousie craves cheese

Everything in your post! LND isn't the deepest larkon out there (oh the cheese) but the OTP ranks as my top few. Dome's sexiness is so great it blinds me from his lack of acting chops and I'm happy to inform you that there will be shirtless scenes coming up. :p

Re: BBJX, I had these BTS picture threads to show you, in case they'd cheer you up, but if they're going to make you cry please save them for later. D:

I cried making myself tea this morning, when will it stop??

OMG! I can't believe that in all the years that I've been watching dramas that I'd never seen a lakorn. Well, I just finished one about an hour ago.

In 12 episodes there were:

3 suicides
1 Hit and run
Blackmail
2 kidnappings
2 shootings/attempted murders
1 rape
1 attempted rape
2 brain surgeries
I lost count of the hospitalizations
Political corruption/bribery
6 Cat fights ( at least)
Pushing, shoving, hair pulling and slapping ( OMG the slapping. I think that just about everyone got slapped at least once. Some many times.)

And lets not forget the Amnesia and Split Personalities.

It was such a total trainwreck that I just couldn't look away. It sort of reminded me of some Phillipine dramas that I've seen. But with roid rage. I spent the entire drama alternating between "say wha..?" and inapropriate fits of the giggles. Cue dramatic organ music now!

My question is:
Does this sound like just your average lakorn? Or did I just pick a real winner? :)

Lol if I say yes ??
AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA, Lakorns are the kind of dramas I wouldn't recommand to people close to me (maybe except dramas like Roy Mai or Booteun Gleep Sudtai). Lakorn are so...the plot is sometimes so ridiculous that it is appealing or the directing is cheap cough*action lakorns*cough. The actors are sure not bad looking.

So I'm assuming that Thai Vampires don't have the same little problem with sunlight as their European cousins. :)

Because of your post (and the picture,...) I checked Love never dies and actually marathoned it...

Mostly for the OTP... Uhm, scratch that... mostly for the male member of the OTP. LOL.

Anyway, lakorn are obviously from another planet!!!

Not sure that I will ever check on other lakorn (mostly because of the over use of violence and rape --you wrote already about that--) but thanks anyway LND was a nice ride!!! (yum, TriPoom....)
