Learnt it the hard way. Was crying a bucket last night because of the final, finaly breakup. Thing is, that breakup scene only had Eight, and it was still so impactful!!
I've figured out why I cannot let go of Eight x Ruoxi. It kind of made sense why she did what she did, but then again, it doesn't. It took her seven years to finally cave in to her heart and show Eight some form of attraction. Seven years. And then, within a mere few months after she took the first step to accepting him, she tracked back. It wasn't as if something major happened during that period to have brought back into the picture the fears that had been keeping her distant from Eight but which she had already overcome. I cannot understand the sudden change in her decision.
Is it because her getting together with Eight had been on impulse, because she was worried about him after he got shot by the arrow?
It doesn't gel well, and I suppose that is what's most aggravating. Or perhaps the novel explains it better. *shrugs*
Oh, you know that hug she FINALLY gave him? I was cheering her on too! Especially after she totally took away his tiny hope by deciding against a soft caress of his cheek.
I just watched ep 12. Guuuuh, I love them so. The way he looks at her, with all that adoration and a sense of disbelief that she finally loves him back, makes my bones melt away from my body...
I don't think she had ever overcome those fears. Ruoxi accepted him in hope that she could make him fall in love with her deeply enough that he would give up his fight for the throne for her. She was trying to compromise her self preservation instincts and her love for him. But I think that deep down, she knew it wouldn't work out. She was merely trying to give her self an excuse to give in. Sort of like how we gave in to the temptation of chocolate cake, telling ourselves that we would exercise it off later, knowing we wouldn't. Also, it wasn't just because of her fear of death that makes her broke up with him. It was also the reminder of his wives. She knows that his first wife wouldn't let her be just as she didn't let her sister be. Now Ruolan just takes it all in stride, but with Ruoxi's personality, she couldn't do that. 8th could defend her once or twice, but can he every time? He's out there dealing with political problems and have to go back home to his wives fighting. How soon will he began to get tire of that and have
( ... )
Shit son. This episode is too much. How can Liu Shi Shi be so gorgeous and has crazy chemistry with all the leading men? OMG I want her and Eight to KISS and do the deed already!!!
