I swear, I will stop spamming, but I barely posted during the week so...

Anyone else going to check out Golden Pond (i.e. Ojakgyo Brothers), the new family kdrama? I am hit-and-miss with family kdramas (when done right, they become some of my favorites but a lot of them don't grab me) but I plan to check this one solely do to casting - it stars ( Read more... )

I plan on checking it out. It seems like something I'd like. Oh, and Ryu Soo Young does get an OTP - Choi Jung Yoon (you may have seen her as the woman who hires Suh Ji Suk in Manny or maybe you saw her in Thank You)

Was she secondary girl in TY? I liked her.

I think it should be against the law for RSY not to get an OTP so yay!!!

Mmm. . .I'm not sure. I saw her in Smile, You as the oldest sister. She was fairly good in that; even if her character was one dimension.

Yes, RSY should always get an OTP.

Have you heard about the new drama, A Thousand Kisses ? It sounds like it could be good. Even if it's yet another drama dealing with age differences in romances. Or maybe I just dig the cast. Kim So Eun (from Boys Before Flowers) and Ryu Jin (from Capital Scandal) are playing the secondary OTP!

I don't really like the leads of ATK, tbh. But I am a sucker for a good secondary OTP and, call me crazy, I think Ryu Jin and KSE would be amazing, so yup, added to my list now.

Speaking of Ryu Soo Young, have you seen Seoul 1945? I'm rewatching it now, and he's one hot communist. I like second female lead better then the main female lead too. Wish they weren't all wishy washy on who they really liked.

I watched the 1st ep yesterday and it's very much a family weekend drama. A lot of talk of which I only got a smidgeon, LOL. The beginning is going to be so sloooooow, or so it feels anyway. Well, it'll be at least 50 epis, right? Not much of Joo Won yet but my, does he look fine! Even when scruffy. XD

I saw the scruffiness and rawr!!!

yes, that's why I didn't even bother checking out raws - weekend dramas are heavily dialogue-driven and my Korean is close to zilch. And they do all start slow but I actually kind of like the unhurried pace.

I'm going to check it out when am-addiction rips and uploads the hardsubbed version from KBS World in a month.

I've been waiting for the screenwriter to come out with a new drama for three years. She's one of my favorite drama script writers, I will not be missing her new family drama.

Just having Ryu Soo Young and Joo Won cast in it is a plus. ;)

It says on the am-addiction thread they might possibly upload the hardsubbed version from KBS World. They've uploaded 50 episode k-dramas before that have aired on KBS World, so I'm hoping this drama will be included in that bunch. The fact that it's even listed on the thread as a possible english sub source makes me hopeful (although, don't be mad at me if they choose not to upload it. lol)

The script writer is the person who wrote Surgeon Bong Dal Hee and Be Strong Geum Soon. I like her writing because her characters are usually straight forward and as tough as nails. She's not great at developing love lines (they usually follow in love abruptly), but she does a good job writing for individual characters and giving them distinct personalities.
