DANCE SCENE = I THINK I ALMOST COMBUSTED. Her wide eyes and his determined little not-smile? GUH.
Oh, Sexy Commie, you want Myung Wol to be carrying out her mission to seduce Kang Woo effectively but you want her to hate every moment of it. Dude, you have issues. Go take an ice-bath. In slomo.
CRACKING UP FOR REAL. YES, IN VERY VERY SLOW MOTION, PLEASE.
Han Ye Seul certainly rocks that hairstyle. (Like Miss Ripley, I'm not watching it until I learn how it ends...there are certain plots where I make an exception to my general spoilerphobicness.)
1. KW falls enough to defect, learns it's all false and MW was just doing a mission andmmmyeah. Nothing good is going to happen after that. 2. He falls but not enough to be insane to relocate to NK. She gets caught by South and put in jail or executed by North for failure. 3. She stays with him in South, he never finds out she was a spy or finds out and forgives her, North sends hit squad after her. 4. He does not forgive her when he finds out, she is all alone stuck in the South. Hit squad or not.
But since this is kinda romcommy, I think it will end well.
I can't tell if I'm more worried about the ending punishing her or about the show "la la la"-ing it's way through her past. (Somewhat contradictory concerns, I know.)
Well, they made sure to make clear she is an orphan, so nobody will suffer if she defects.
As to lalalala - don't think it will happen - have you ever seen a kdrama, however fluffy, that didn't adore angst? I am sure KW will learn the truth at some pont and she will angst in connection with that (as is deserved, imo). But I severely doubt she'll be "punished" in the conventional sense - they also made sure to explain she is not a secret agent, just a kind of cop who used to bust people for watching dramas etc. Which isn't great or anything, but she has no blood on her hands. And SK deals ok with defectors, and I bet Korea's cia would be fine with her if she spills info.
In real life, Kims would totally send someone to murder her because a NK agent defecting and marrying a Hallyu star is a huge slap in the pr face, but I am sure the drama won't go there (and there are plenty of defectors, even high-ranking ones, like a fighter pilot who defected with his jet) they leave alone.
Yes to the secondary couple. Very entertaining. And I read somewhere on a kdrama blog that Kim Jong Il did have actors and a director kidnapped from South Korea so it's actually quite plausible!
So much OTP shippy goodness. They have plenty of interaction during the episodes which is awesome. And fangirls are scaryyy.
Oh yes, that is very well-known (I posted about it too, some time). He also tried to have a famous pianist kidnapped and they have facilities for their agents to get plastic surgery to look really hot so they can lure kidnap victims. KW should be quite happy they want him to defect voluntarily!
Everyone has so much chemistry with everyone else! I adore KW and MW's dynamic because both, underneath various layers, are ultimately decent people.
I'm totally loving this drama as well. This and Heartstrings are the only k-dramas I'm bothering to watch with c-subs. :)
Loving the wackiness, the strong characters all around, the shippiness, everything! Except the soundtrack... compared to Heartstrings, this drama doesn't have a single memorable song...

Hey, Lee Jin Wook is just out of the army, so I believe an ice bath is most in order.
Btw, did you notice that in her scene with him, In A was wearing an American flag shirt? That made me lol and lol and lol.
Also, any theories re: KW's father? I wonder if he was a spy (NK or SK) searching for those books and disappeared in connection with them?
