I just saw the Mawang link. O_O There's no way this could even slightly resemble Mawang, but you are completely right, the reference does make jumpy. That drama was traumatizing but oh, how I loved it.
I ready to see Shin start to change because he definitely should after this, right? I mean, for how many episodes can this keep going?
Also, I think I figured out my slight problem with this drama. The characters. They are not that well written. Any of them. I can find things that annoy me with each of them. The ballerina is completely dry, the director was flirting with GW in one episode and declares his love for the dry ballerina in another, Shin is just being stupid and even GW and her love for Shin all of a sudden is not really developed well. Oh well, I can overlook them I guess. Still love the drama either way.
The thing is, I like both Shin and GW - they feel real to me (her crush actually feels very realistic, I still remember being this age). I am bored to death with director and ballerina though.
I think the same as you. I watch it more for the college-life journey of it all, which incidentally also includes romance. I had felt early on that it was going to be more an ensemble story, so I guess, despite popular opinion, I like it a lot.
Oh my gosh. I also thought about that scene in "The Devil." This and that were some of the most lovely rain scenes I've had in recent memory. :)
I loved the rain scene too, I think thats the first time we saw Shin really shout like that. poor kid and his hopeless ridiculous crush. I rolled my eyes at the end scene with the hug but it didnt bother me that much, I think woman made her feelings clear that she has no interest in him and that he just needed a shoulder to cry on. too bad it wasn't gyu won though. ah mawang, never saw it but oh joo ji hooon, i miss you ;_; please come back to dramas you pretty pretty man.
lol yeah well normal fandom mentality - it's either their OTP or nothing at all -_-
WTF nawww why with the Mawang screencaps? I even spoiled myself for that drama reading your posts and it watching it still made me so goddamn sad for days.
I think I'll just watch this all in one go, I still have my thesis and demo teaching to think about ;_;

Heartstrings is fun if not particularly soul-searing.
