A whole bunch of drama things

1. It just occurred to me that Yoochun's character in Ripley is basically a continuation of his character in that mobile jdrama which is so hard to get ahold of - the whole angsty arrogant rich chaebol thing. Mmmmm. I must admit out of all the upcoming May dramas, I am most excited about Ripley. Lee Da Hae is my favorite kdrama actress, bar none, ( Read more... )

That Mi Wu Shuang Long trailer has been out before YH showed up on BuBu's set... and now he's all done with BBXJ...THAT long.

I would be surprised we'll see it anytime soon, my thinking it's on some touchy subjects the censors r not too happy to let it see the daylight. (just my guess YH is playing a little man against the bureaucracy/police/gov....not a drama subject they r fond of)

I'm guessing his guestspot on AdMania will see daylight soon. He's in 10 eps of that epic. It's not period for a change. ;)

Mi Wu Shuang Long's producer is being sued by the scriptwriter for not paying enough copyright royalties. Hopefully that will be solved soon. I'm also anxiously waiting for Nicky Wu's new min guo drama, Santuary, which finished filming last June and trailer was already out last November.

Ugh, about the lawsuit :(

I've seen the trailer for the Nicky Wu drama and it looks gorgeous.

For some really odd and inexplainable reason, I dislike Yoon Eun Hye. I think it goes all the way back to the Princess Hours drama. I found her and the rest of the cast so irritating that I stopped watching after the first episode. ... couple of years later, I forced myself to watch the whole thing b/c everyone kept on praising it etc ( ... )

I like YEH (and Goong), but even as a YEH fangirl, I think if you have such a visceral reaction to her, you are not going to enjoy Lie To Me, no matter what type of drama it is.

=( you're probably right, but I kinda like Kang Ji Hwan.
I really do wish I liked her, b/c the drama she's in are generally the type of drama I like... but it's just really odd b/c I really can't pinpoint WHAT exactly I dislike about her.

I think it involves mutual drunkenness but the whole thing doesn't appeal, to say the least.

I can't wait for LtM

I am a little wary of Yoochun in Ripley mostly because I've seen his Japanese short and he sucked in it. On the other hand, he was amazing in SKKS so perhaps he'll be better here. The real challenge is how he'll separate his drama persona from his idol image now that he's playing a modern guy.

Yes, but that jdrama was his first acting gig. He was good in SKKS, like you said. But we'll see.

I'm really looking forward to Miss Ripley as well. And the new Hong sisters' drama. And Lie to Me. And the newly renamed Festival (can't remember the new name). And City Hunter (kind of cautiously excited about this one though).

After a couple of months of Kdrama slump this will be a welcome thing.

And on the US/UK front? Any addictions for you?

I've seen the first two episodes of Game of Thrones and....it's love. Love the cinematography, the plot and the music. A winner. I was a bit wary after seeing the gory opening scene but everything went smoothly once it was over.

And while trying to while away the time between the episodes of GOT, I got myself another addiction when I started watching The Borgias. Love at first sight as well. Is it so wrong of me to rabbidly ship Cesare/Lucrezia? But then again I ship Sansa/The Hound in Game of Thrones so there might be a problem with me and forbidden relationships :o)

Festival is now "you've fallen for me." I much preferred Festival as a title.

Re: City Hunter. It doesn't excite me at all atm, but you never know.

I adore Borgias (such a good show), Burn Notice is about to be back (or maybe they just aired that movie. Either way, need to watch it), and Dr Who has started. I keep meaning to check out GoT and getting sidetracked.

Well, actually, it might be better to wait until all 10 episodes of GOT are out if you haven't started watching. If you end up liking it, you'll want to gobble up everything at once :o) I was able to watch the first 5 episodes of The Borgias back to back yesterday and already I want more. These are series that I prefer watching in one sitting but I have no will-power so I end up doing the one ep a week routine with all the impatient waiting in between.

Re-City Hunter, I can't help myself. LMH isn't my favorite male actor but I always get the urge to watch his dramas. Don't know why though.

Gah, "You've Fallen for Me"...No wonder I decided to forget that title. I liked Festival much better as well.

Dramabeans commented how much she liked thw title change so we may be in the minority, but I agree with you - the new one sounds so awkward and generic.

I adore Lee Min Ho but his taste in picking projects is horrible, imo. Plus, the topic just doesn't interest me. But you never know, I have had the thing where I was obsessed with a drama I was indifferent to in the pre-airing.

I rarely get obsessed with Western shows enough to need to binge because they are not strongly iterative. There are exceptions to this, of course, but not many. Even with the shows I love, like Sons of Anarchy, I don't usually binge.

BtW, may I recommend Can You Hear My Heart to you? It's excellent and despite being a weekend kdrama, is only 30 eps.
