I think its when she gets kidnapped because Domyoji hurt Junpei's brother. And then Domyoji lets himself get beat up for her to live.

Oh, Xiao Chun. How did you fall so low?! Well I mean, Consort Liang DID try to have him and his mother killed to threaten QC and Eight stupidly stopped him from selling QC's goods to raise money for a doctor for his mom, but REALLY, Xiao Chun.

They then twisted his character into that of a historical general and he gradually went totally power-hungry. Sigh. And he was so cute before (albeit not the brightest crayon in the box).

I think jdrama is the version which didn't followed this storyline unlike the other. In HYD this storyline takes place when Makino's "friend" who was obsseded about Domyoji trappled Makino because she knew Domyoji loved the latter. Junpei storyline happened in season 2. Anyway they didn't srew up the essence of HYD.
