Something I have craved for someone to point out to lunatic secondaries all my life

Mar 15, 2011 23:58

You know, whenever the secondaries go on these insane rants as to how on earth can hero/heroine prefer OTP to them. For once, just for once, I wanted the ranted-at person to point out to them that it's because secondaries are psycho! And look what I got!

You ever watched The Accidental Couple? Hwang Jeong-Min and Kim Ah-Joong. I really loved it when it was aired even though most bloggers seems to give this drama a pass. The first few episodes was rather angsty (can fast forward here) but the show really gets going after the wedding. It's one of the rare few kdramas which gets better and better with each episode, with believable character growth and endearing characters who grows on you. I'll recommend it as a romcom.

I second this. I skipped about the first third of the drama and started somewhere in between episodes six and eight and that worked out perfectly. Both the leads could only be described as charming, and while I would say it's a more low-key romance, it's completely believable and endearing at the same time.

I'll third Accidental Couple if you haven't seen it.

I'm currently rom-com-less having lapped up Sunny Happiness with a spoon;
Let's see, I'm watching - King Geunchogo; Duo; Crime Squad; Midas; Flames of Desire; 49 Days when it starts; and....Glee. I rewatched Hana Kimi because of the news it was being remade k-drama style and I needed something completely brainless to offset the FIYAH intensity. I'm gonna marathon some more FIYAH later this week, though. 8-)

I love your kdrama list and plan to start on a lot of them soon but yeah - I crave some mindless fluff and there isn't any atm.

Yeah, that was great. Normally it's "Because she is my epic true love!" "Yes, but...why?" "Because she is my love!" "So if she wasn't there..."

I love your icon! Where is it from?

LOL - your point is spot on but sadly, this response didn't seem to have slowed down Pan Ying's crazy at all, merely derailed it into 'fine, I can never have you even if she's dead. But I am going to have her dead anyway so you won't be happy either.'

Icon is Paladins in Troubled Times. (I think I probably had caps from the actual scene in my picspam.) It's the only proper wuxia icon I have uploaded ATM, as neither Princess Returning Pearl nor Fairies of Liao Zhai really counts as a wuxia-one is historical drama, the other fantasy.

Pan Ying amazed me. All villainesses should aspire to be her when they grow up. Except for the ones who want to Lady Jami from Emperor of the Sea.

oh dear...10!? i thought i was bad!

i am currently watching Mute Wife (very old school drama where no subs can be had for love nor money i think), Chinese Paladin 3, chinese Iljimae, Detective Tanglang (kinda in 1940's i think), and Ady An's Yi Tian Tu Long Ji, am currently dl-ing RRR. I seem to have dropped Young Warriors, but will need to finish it off! Bad habit of mine! For RRR - i admit that i hunted down the bit where he's in his bed after having been beaten and the youngest daughter is there talking to him. OMG!MUSH!

as for rom-com, i would suggest Sunshine is A Happy Day or whatever english name it's got. So, so good!

I personally found That Fool/Accidental Couple absolutely dull. I sat through 6 episodes before I completely gave up on it. Part of it was because I found female lead so bland and lifeless that it irritated me. I mean, really; she loves this guy who values his political career (or something like that, I can't remember) too much to go official with her, so to save his reputation and wait until he can come and get her (Because he promised! He definitely would!), she talks the sweet main guy into being her husband for a while - apparently this is her idea of how to fend of rumours. And in the meantime she mopes and weeps - it isn't until the latter half of the drama that she improves. Bah.

You've probably seen this already, but I'm currently going back and looking for old dramas, and I'm really enjoying I Really, Really Like You. Lee Min Ki and Eugene are adorable.

I think you have to be in the right mood for it, though; I actually started watching it several months ago, but clearly it wasn't the right time for it because I watched the first 5-6 episodes and ended up putting it aside for the time being because I was bored.

Lately I've been desperate for a really good romance, and there's nothing currently airing/recent that has the kind of story/tropes that I'm looking for (I'm sick of girls falling for guys first and wanted the opposite!). Plus everything's too angsty, so the fluffy IRRLY is totally hitting the spot. :D
