Dream High ep 11 - get off the emo train, emo boy!

Feb 11, 2011 07:51

As you could tell by the fact that I haven't posted about it until now, it took me a couple of days to get to Dream High ep 11. And yes, while I had a busy week, I had time to fit in eps of other dramas, so it wasn't really due to my schedule ( Read more... )

I kind of agree and kind of disagree. I understand SD's anger, because he feels like he's going to lose his dream of becoming a singer. I believe he goes to the Doctor in episode 12, btw ( ... )

But the thing is - blaming Hyemi for everything that happened is sort of insane. It would be insane if she was a conniving mastermind, let alone in these circumstances. I find self-pity and lashing out at others both highly unattractive.

I ever fully recovered my early love for Jin Gook after his fit and I liked Sam Dong less to start with, so I am afraid even if he snaps out, residual irritation on my part will still be there.

I have very little tolerance for (heterosexual) people who believe that the only way in which they can interact with members of the opposite sex is romantically. Ever heard of friendship? The point I heard in Dangermousie's post is that his confusion is all his doing. She was very clear about the nature of her affection. It was he who chose not to acknowledge them. I can understand his being angry at himself, but at Hyemi? Please, own your actions. HyeMi lied (and later very clearly owned up to the lie in order to disabuse him of the notion that there was a possibility for them), but he knew it was a lie in the very first place. He let himself entertain the possibility that it wasn't.

But then, he's supposed to be a 17 year old. I was an idiot at 17.

I would agree with that.

She was very clear about the nature of her affection.

After episode fourteen, I don't think Hye Mi is sure of her feelings.

I think he was more upset at himself for following her to Seoul. That by going to Seoul he discovered his love of music, and that he felt he was going to loss it. I, personally, didn't see it as him being completely angry at HM just because she doesn't like him. He was more angry at himself and taking it out on her. Not cool, but as I too was once a silly and naive 17 year old, I get it.

Of course, seeing Hye Mi with Jin Gook like that didn't help either. But he also trusted her and had a date with her, at least that's what he thought. So getting stood up and then seeing her kiss another boy would of course make him mad. Even though he kinda knew that she liked Jin Gook. But afterwards he was angry at her because she was the reason he came to Seoul. It wasn't so much her dating Jin Gook, but rather her making him come to the city, protecting her and then loosing his hearing. At least that's how I understood it.

Same here. I totally agree with you.

Totally my thoughts as well! If anyone has a reason to go emo (only temporarily, mind you) it's Sam Dong. Losing your hearing *and* your first love would trump awful-dad-syndrome every time.

The hearing sucks of course (though seek multiple opinons please, boy) but under the circumstances for him to believe anything but Hyemi liking JG is willful, purposeful blindness and I can't feel sorry for him there.

I think we're pretty much on the same page on the emo train thing. I watched this episode without subtitles at first so I didn't know that he was told that there was nothing they could do about his going deaf so I got really irritated with his behavior about half way through. Once I watched it with the subtitles I could understand why he went all emo but I didn't like how he took it out on Hye-mi and In-sung.

Yes. Taking it out on others is a nono.

I still haven't watched but from spoilers, it looks like the love line might be switching his way with a supposed kiss scene in episode 13. So perhaps the end of the emo?

I can totally sympathize with SamDong.
If I suddenly lost my crush and learned that I was also losing my hearing on the same day I'd go emo too.
And I like emo Samdong...he's so hot!
and it looks like Sam Dong/Hye Mi might become a couple...there was almost no JinGook in episode 13 :D

If they become a couple, I hope he'll stop moping :P
