Just finished ep 2 of Taiyou no Uta and have just one question

Jan 28, 2011 17:34

Does Yamada Takayuki play some sort of sex worker in everything he's in? I mean, that was the least of his problems in Byakuyakyu, but I was completely amused to see that in ep 2 of TnU he became a host to be able to pay his bills. Is it some sort of Japanese equivalent of stripping your way through college? And now a predatory older lady wants him ( Read more... )

He was not a sex worker in Long Love Letter! Although in the first episode, he did mistake his girlfriend's invitation to her house for Christmas as a sexual one. Does that count? XD

He's in LLL? OK, now I am beginning to wonder instead whether he's in every depressing jdrama ever made?

Yep! He's like, the main student along with Yamapi.

I was gonna say LLL isn't too depressing, but... Well, it's not bad! XD It was a really good, suspenseful drama.

Also not a sex worker in Sekachu, Tegami, Crows Zero, MW, or Densha Otoko! I really hope he does another drama/movie with the sex worker angle again. I find his angst lovely.

I love his angst too - it's the soulful eyes.

*also takes note of dramas/movies listed - need to get my hands on them*

No, he plays a star pitcher in the drama adaptation of Mitsuru Adachi's H2.

No sex or corpses. Just an awesome school coming of age story. LOL, your worry does make sense, but he's just too good of an actor not to try out darker roles now and then.

Yes, but he was a bf of another terminally ill girl. Heh.

Yamada Takayuki being a host = fanservice for all the housewives who adore him!

LOL. I just want to get him a proper job and a sedate suite and a cute gf his own age :)

I can't even remember what he did in that drama, but yeah he's been working in the water trade in several dramas(water trade=hosts, hostesses and prostitutes).
But he has also been a fireman in Fire boys, geeky college student in Kamogawa horumo(that was a fun movie) and badass gang leader in Crows Zero.
But he is adorable, I'd take him home with me anytime.
