I thought Su Ae was supposed to be an NTS agent spying on Cha Seung Won? That's what I gathered from the articles and scenes I found.

Not sure. Didn't get it from ep 1 but it could be a twist later on.

I've only watched the 1st episode raw so I haven't yet formed any kind of clear idea of what to make of Athena. Yes, it had a much less 'bang off' start than Iris but I don't think it's necessarily a bad thing. The 1st epi was tentatively promising so I'll wait and see.

I wasn't actually all that hooked on Iris so I guess that's an advantege of a sort. I enjoyed it well enough but for me it wasn't The Drama of 2009 (that was SoaM).

As for the characters.... well, I think we don't really know what their place in the scheme of things is yet. Who or what they really are. I'm betting on more than one double agent in the mix.

I rather like Su Ae and I think her portrayal was just fine. It was JWS I thought was kinda meh. Didn't feel much chemistry in their scenes either so far, so you've got it there. :)

SoaM was a drama I could apppreciate the quality of but did not love - mainly because I wanted a different story than the one it was telling :)

I hope Athena gets better,

I had pretty much the same reaction as you to the first episode of Athena (haven't seen the second episode yet). First half hour bored me and the second half was okay, but not brilliant. Still, I'm willing to give it some time to develop and get better (hey, I even finished Fugitive Plan B, which suprisingly got better in the second half after the crappy first half).

I am impressed you finished Fugitive. Now that's stamina.

I haven't even bothered with ep 2 of Athena yet, that's how cold ep 1 left me.

In this case I'm not suprised that my opinion is the complete opposite. *gg*
I thought this was a very interesting episode that made me want more.
