Be nice to the less fortunate - the homeless nameless guy just might be a prince in disguise

I narrowed my choice of lakorns to watch to the following:

1. Current front runner is Thara Himalaya. In TK, heroine discovers nameless homeless guy and being a kind person takes him in to work on her farm. Love blossoms and then one day it turns out that her nameless helper is nobody other than the crown prince of a fictional kingdom suffering ( Read more... )

oops, me again.

1)I'm also watching Thara Himalay now but I'm not feeling the love between the hot prince and pretty doctor. I'm mainly watching for the 3 brothers and the rebellion plot line. :p

3)I can't decide if I like BBK or not but at least it's something different from the typical lakorn and Ann's acting is great.

Hi! I am going to see if TH works for me. I am such a sucker for that storyline that unless it's truly abysmal, I'll probably like.

But first, I am marathonning Jai Rao. I am sooooooooooooooooooo in love with it.

Any other lakorns to rec?

1) Oum Rak (Chains of Love) synopsis theme song mv - Ken/Ann
It’s funny, sweet and occasionally angsty. Napat (Ann) can get annoyingly stubborn but Chen (Ken) makes up for it by being such an adorable boy-man. One of my fav lakorns.

2) Phoo Yai Lee Gap Nang Ma (Headman Lee and Ms Ma) teaser my thoughts - Por/Ploy

3) Suay Rerd Cherd Sod (Hot, Perfect and Single) teaser my thoughts - Film/Janie
It’s over the top but somehow the main characters work for me… I just fastfoward everything else. Haa.

4) Botan Gleep Sudtai (Last Peony Petal) teaser - Aum/Aff
This is a family drama that can get emotionally heavy at times. I’m not sure if you like such dramas but I thought it was pretty good.

I don't know if you will like Bootain Gleep Sudtai but try it. In my view this is my fav lakorn with DOL (maybe you didn't like JLR but as I read I couldn't stop watching that : JLR has its charm too). Now Aum/Aff are my fav asian couple after Mitsushima Nanako/Takenoushi Yukata, Jun/Mao and Fan Bing Bing/Nic Tse. They don't need tons of kissing scenes to shine (I can't imagine the chemistry if one day Aff agrees to kiss Aum onscreen...

where do you watch/DL all your lakorns? i've actually NEVER watched one in my life, despite Thailand being my neighbouring country. but I adore DanBeam and Da Endorphin and a lot of other Thai artistes.

I have however, watched some Indonesian dramas on TV. If they're anything at all alike, pls leave me out of it!

youtube and viikii. They are v. cheesy - sort of shorter telenovelas.

hahaha, the story totally reminds me of Save the Last Dance for me with Ji Sung. but then again, i guess that one is being copied from another drama with the same story.

ETA2: Yummy yummy leading man speaks wonderful English. After having to endure horrifying mangling of the English language by Korean actors who are supposedly playing English-proficient characters, you have no idea what a huge plus point this is

Are you referring to certain scene in SG by any chance? hehe
they say it meant to sound like that and was intentional but i still believe it was due to lack of grasp of proper English by the actress. you can fake bad English. she wanted to show off her English when it was actually baaaad in reality.
one thing i can't understand, you can't show a bad English by having the wrong punctuations. this is only achievable if only the person saying the sentences have no idea what they are talking about and just memorised it. in which for a person pretending to know good English when they are actually not is impossible to make up.
hahaha did i make any sense?

Thara Himalaya is really not worth watching-I've watched it for the sake of the 3 hot brothers and that sexually confused doctor.
It is a short lakorn but don`t waste your time!
