Dangermousie's Ultimate Top 10 Dramas - Monster Post

Nov 02, 2010 12:55

I often do lists (I love lists) - favorite kdramas, most butt-kicking drama ladies, most awesome melodramas (well, that one is coming up). I do so love lists. But I realize that there is one list I have not made in a very long time - my ultimate Top 10 Dramas list. Not separating them into categories or countries. Simply - if I looked at all the ( Read more... )

I completely agree with you on Black and White!! Vic was such amazing eye candy in that series with his inner turmoil and hot as he'll when he wore darker clothes (to signify that he was evil).

Hopefully the movie will come out soon!!

I love lists of favourite stuff, especially when I can trust that I'll like it too. :D
Black and White catched my interest. I think this is exactly what I need at the moment besides the last episodes of Kim Soo Ro and my Jumong marathon, something other than History, And I'm in the mood for a cop drama

B&W is delicious fun. Not too angsty (but enough), smart and funny. And mind-meltingly hot with tons of tough guys.

A++ list! I agree with pretty much everything, especially this:

except for one other character on this top 10 list (I will let you figure out who), I have never loved and cared as much for a drama character as I did for tough, wounded, PTSDing, trapped Hyun Joon.

Few characters have made me so crazy and obsessive and emotionally invested as Xiao Chuan and Hyun Joon.

Ah, so amazing.

Btw, did you hear that:

1. Jiang Hu is planning on hardsubbing The Myth, apparently!!!!!!!!!!!!

2. The makers of The Myth are making another drama with Hu Ge, where he is a horse thief with a vendetta. It's supposed to be v. angsty and he looks like this:

There are many shows on your list that I intend to watch someday (Mawang, The Outsiders, Capital Scandal), or have intrigued me in the past. It's shameful that I haven't watched some of these.

The only show on this list that I don't get is Iris. I liked it well enough, but I wasn't as emotionally connected to it as everyone else seemed to be (especially in regards to the OTP). On the other hand, IRIS did introduce me to Kim So Yeon, who I now adore (I loved her character in Iris, too). I actually preferred Him Hyun Joon with her rather than Female Character #1 (But mostly I was just pro Badass North Korean Spygirl).

I was actually rewatching Mars the other day :). It's not one of my absolute favorites, but it was still very very good. I think I have a problem with low production values...

Legend! Black and White! <3 I would like to take a moment to recognize Bae Yong Joon's sageuk hair. It was so beautiful and shiny and made me jealous that his hair was not on my head ><.

BYJ's sageuk hair is epic. I've liked him before this, but Legend is what made me into an insane fangirl. DD = ultimate boyfriend of perfection.

Re: Mars. Yeah, if production values are important, a lot of older twdramas are affected (TO doesn't have the greatest production values either, just fyi, but I thought it fit the grungy surroundings. Side note - if you need links for TO, let me know.)

Re: IRIS. I think it was a rabid or 'what is the fuss about?' type of drama, not much middle ground. I think for me the drama (even though it's my type of drama in general) was elevated to next level by LBH. He just really dragged me in emotionally.

KSY=wonderful.

Mawang = perfection.

And btw, I must say that I'm rather surprised that Chuno is not on this list of yours. May I ask where it is in the standings? You just seemed to love it so much when it was airing.

If I was making a Top 10 kdrama list, Chuno would be on it.

1. WW
2. Mawang
3. Legend
4. Capital Scandal
5. IRIS
6. Someday
7. Chuno
8. Save the Last Dance
9. My Girl
10. Snow Queen/Hong Gil Dong (tie)
