Oh My Lady - Oh Such (a) Pity!

I was clearing off some backlog in my drama list - finishing some dramas where I had only few eps prior to ginormous binges on Baker and Gloria. The first on the list was Oh My Lady. I sort of followed it as it aired in the spring but kept losing more and more interest, and finally just dropped it with only two episodes left. Well, four months ( Read more... )

I'm with you. While watching this one, I felt no chemistry between the leads. And, lets face it, a rom-com is really all about the two leads. Most rom-coms are thin of plot, so you have to be rooting for the OTP. Here. . .it honestly felt like an older sister and younger brother. He was too immature, she didn't seem that interested, he didn't seem that interested, they were just. . .there. At no point in time did I ever think of them as a couple. In fact, I wanted them to remain friends. That would have been a nice twist on the genre.

I'm pretty sure I would have preferred that. The drama just didn't earn the right to make them a couple. It didn't work on any level.

Too true. They never felt like a couple, and the rushes toward the end didn't help. Also, he still felt too young and immature, I didn't feel that "forever" vibe I usually get at the end of rom-coms; I could see them breaking up in the future.

I agree, I would have been happier if she ended with wooden dude - it would have made more sense

I was excited, then I became apathetic, and finally I couldn't care enough to even find out what happened at the end.

Exactly.

And I agree she felt like his mother. I was genuinely grossed out over kissing. The vibe was all wrong.
