This is the phenomenon I am going to call "Yangcest." Yangcest came to be because Lee Kwok Yap has a mini-harem of actresses and actors he likes to use in various roles. This isn't repetitive so much as familiar, but the shipping gets all AWKWARD once there's a giant family drama involved. (Currently, I am watching a Fairies of Liao Zhai story-the series the pic you posted is from, but on a different story, and 6th bro's OTP is the heroine, and what I hope is her OTP is 2nd bro in Yang. The other option told her to be more womanly then criticized everything about her, and is in love with someone else, whereas not-2nd bro goes on demonhunting adventures with her and lies to her father that he trained her to fight so she won't get in trouble with Dad because she spied on him to learn.) Liu Shi Shi, I think, is at 4 series after the upcoming Clothing of the World, and Yuan Hong at 3 after the same. (In lead roles, at least. Others have had more supporting roles.) Hu Ge, though, has either 5 or 6. (I think he's been in every drama ( ... )

You should definitely watch LOCH - it's on track becoming my fave wuxia drama.

LOLOLOL re: Yangcest. As far as I can see, Yang Brothers and LOCH share at least five actors - Liu Shishi, Hu Ge, Yuan Hong, Yang Papa and the guy who plays Song Emperor - it gets confusing because I am watching them at the same time :)

2nd bro is also in there, I think, though I'm not sure who he plays.

I can't tell bros 1-3 apart yet so you may very well be right.

Yang Brothers is not a drama that inspires me to marathon but it's very solid and I am enjoying it (it really reminds me of a weekend family drama, only with swords).

I know you were interested in Men and Legends - do you want me to try to see if my DVDs are burnable - if they are copyright-protected, I won't be able to do anything because I am not tech savvy enough but if they aren't, I can burn copies for you.

Asian entertainment is an incestuous world, what can I say? It's like 2 degrees of separation.

At least the main character in CP3 isn't named Yang?

LOLOLOLOLOL Too true.

I am basically watching Yang Brothers and LOCH simultaneously and it gets confusing sometimes - I am going all "Yang Kang, why are you kidnapping your Daddy's daughter, isn't she your sister too?" or "Ouyang Ke, what are you doing being Song Emperor?"

Sorry for being out of subject but I wanted to point that I am watching LOCH ep 32 and I notice Mu Nianci and Wayang Honglie have some kind of interesting chemistry...I like their interraction and it brings a lot of dynamism to LSS's character.

I noticed that, too - during the scene when she tried to goad him into killing her.

I wonder if he's just automatically interested in any patriotic Song woman? :P Seriously, though, they definitely hate each other (Honglie probably holds her responsible in part for YK's initial defection, plus she is associated with hated Papa Yang, and Mu Nianci has a LOT of reasons to hate him) and that really gives them some interesting chemistry (that would be the MOST twisted triangle ever)
