Wallflower ep 1 is LOVE

I have finished ep 1 of Wallflower and I am totally obsessed - it's my jdrama of the season. I never thought any live-action could get the quirky, funny, Gothic feel of the manga right but this did. And the actors are definitely now my Sunako, Kyohei, Takenaga, Ranmaru and Yuki. So

I'll admit to thinking of this in the same vein as Mei-chan and Atadan (female lead, loads of guys and crazy ensues) but i actually ended up liking Atadan while the reverse happened with Mei-chan (was ok and then it just went too stupid).

I guess what i'm trying to say is that i don't have high hopes for this but i am willing to check it out and i'll probably like it. Although i think part of that is 'cos i wanna see Kame in something and hope he does it well. I seem to have some sort of worrier syndrome for his acting career lol. XD Also a lot of this rests of course on Sunako. If i like her? I'm sold. If not then i'm off.

Where did you get the video from? I've been refreshing DA for ages?

I want Kame to have a hit too - I think he's really underrated.

I adore Sunako btw - have you ever read the manga? She's really close to her manga version.

I watched this RAW (thanks for that link btw) and loved it. I'm fairly easy when it comes to manga adaptions. I know they won't be as good as the source material, so I never really mind if the drama enters crack!land. But, this - this was such a good surprise. It's good. Like, actually and generally, good.

It's close to the manga and anime, but it also fits into a proper drama mode. I think I'm already addicted to it. It's just spot on with the writing and directing and especially the casting. I was worried that it was too Johnny-idol heavy, but. . .the actors just fit their characters so well.

I'm loving Kame here. I think he's very underrated as an actor, and I feel bad that all of his dramas after Nobuta wo Produce did fair to poor in the ratings, so - I want this to do well. He's really perfect in his role.

And, the girl, Aya, she fits Sunako very well. I'd only seen her in Mei-chan, where she was the semi-stuck up friend, so this was a pleasant surprise.

Overall, I'm looking forward to next week.

I know. I only checked it out because of a very small hope it won't be mangling to manga too much and because I like Kame and then I fell madly in love. It really gets the tone right but it also works as a live action (and I like the little changes they made too, to make it more 'realistic' but still plenty wacky). So good.

I find him good-looking enough but he doesn't make me pantpantpantpant - but then very few Japanese actors do. I think Nagase and Takki are about it.

Argh, I come back today to watch the rest of the episode and the links are gone. She probably got hit with the copyright claim. I knew I should have saved the videos when I had the chance. Viikii links are broken too. Probably used the same ones. I had the time to watch now. Damn!!!!
