Dances with Smurfs

Because Mr. Mousie is a Saint among Men, he babysat Baby Mousie while I went to see Avatar.

Wow.

The storyline itself was basically Scifi does Dances with Wolves but the visuals were amazing - the movie made me feel the way I felt reading scifi under covers when I was 12 - like this incredible new world, as alien as a dream and twice as vivid.

movies, scifi

Cliched as all get out, but I loved it. I loved badass Neytiri. I loved lunkheaded, but good hearted Jake. Loved the visuals.

Little thing that I might have loved the most? That Neytiri called him "my Jake" even when he was a half dead human crawling on the floor.

It was when she was trying to get in and screaming "Jake! My Jake!" that I realized that A.) I was way too invested in all this and B.) that I'm a total sap.

That scene made my heart hurt in a good way.

WOW indeed is the best way to describe AVATAR.

And aren't you the luckiest woman on earth for having Mr. Mousie who will babysat so you can have some ME time.

Agreed! I was so ready to have all kinds of issues with the movie but I just can't stop thinking about it. I'm sort of in love with Pandora and the Na'vi now. Like, SO MUCH.

I loved the fact that we had aliens riding dragons (or dragon like things) in a battle against helicopters. THAT is fantasy. And I loved all the luminescence.
