Am currently reading book currently acquired on Kindle about a time-travelling Cherokee and a half-fox demon who (presumably) hook up. Clearly I am using Kindle to create my own customized badfic pond. My God. I have no shame

This is part of why I keep a huge backlog and a nice tote to keep them in for trips. (Though this weekend ended up with a largely-accurate-but-romanticized book about Mary Tudor[HVIII's sister, not daughter) and a totally AU [what with the real one most likely dying at age 2] book about Mary Seymour.)
The Secret Bride by Diane Haeger. First 60~ pages aren't that good (not sure if it was Haeger getting used to it or because Mary was a little kid, and some authors aren't good at that) but overall I enjoyed it. though I admit that I tend to be more lenient with authors who actually write about the women of their time period and try to make a book work around their lives, instead of taking the easier route of creating new characters.
I don't watch dramas often, but you're the one who made me discover Kamisama (and every drama I ever watched, actually) and sigh....It was a bit too much at the end, but it's still one of my favourite things. Swoon indeed.
She has some terminal illness (and this is why her first husband divorced her) , then they meet, fall in love, then she falls ill again BUT! She gets better! because it is Christmas drama! They meet in the office , but I don't think it is done the way you don't like it - she likes her job, she is good at it, she is happy with her life (well, as happy as you can be after the illness and husband divorcing you). Also - all that delicious angst after she gets ill again. :D
It is not as swoony as Kamisama but I think it meets the requirements.
this drama is what gives me hope for "Will it Snow at Christmas?" - surely dramas that have "Christmas" in their name must end well.
I really like Himitsu no Hanazono, which isn't completely swoon-tastic (or angsty like you like them :P) but it was my first favorite JDrama and it holds a special place in my heart. ♥
I also really like Waraeru Koi wa Shitakunai, which is short and sweet (just 3 episodes!) It's based around Christmas but there is romance and it's sweet. :)
Hey - you might like both for the lack of mass amounts of ikemen? :D?

Mary Tudor - I loved an Edwardian novel about her and Brandon (name escapes me now). What's this one?
