I was in a very bad mood last evening, so I did what every girl will do - bought a dozen-and-a half cupcakes and put in the DVDs of My GirlThe cupcakes were overly ambitious (I ate 2. Luckily my Lord and Master likes cupcakes as well and we have a fridge) but My Girl was, as always, perfect. I only got through half an ep before needing to go to bed

I love 'meeting' new people on lj so yay! ;)
Re: Yu Rin's looks - I think people saying she looks like the 'parent' helps with her legitimacy as a cousin - that way they are more apt to belive she is so her looking like that is fortuitous. Gong Chan getting upset about it - hmm, it's been a while and I am not in that point in my rewatch so no idea - maybe he hates having her in an uncomfortable situation?
Re: Jeong Woo is Gong Chan's cousin but not Yu Rin's (or the girl who Yu Rin is pretending to be). It makes sense. I have 3 first cousins and two of them, who are sisters, have no blood connection the third because they are on different sides of the family - one through Mother's side and another through father's.

it felt so different from all kdramas, then it dawned on me that it was like a taiwan drama what with joo yoo rin's OTT facial expressions in the first few episodes, jung woo's intro (wherein he's abroad and chased by the girls bf), if they didn't speak korean here at all this woudn't be a kdrama (kdrama = terminal disease, amnesia.... tragic ending)
this was done so right and is on top of my list (shares the top spot with other non-cliche kdramas full house, capital scandal, last scandal)
I do a rewatch every year and it never gets old, still as adorable as the first time around
i'm currently watching 'my lucky star' and it reminded me so much of 'my girl', i think you've seen this too, it felt like 'what if yoo rin and jung woo fell in love; i'm lovin their adventures together (i'm 4 eps in, hope this keeps up)
hope the hong sisters repeat this feat
