Who is your drama boyfriend?

This post is here because ambergold is watching Thank You and it reminded me that its hero, Dr. Min (played by Jang Hyuk), is indubitably my drama boyfriend.

OOO Fun!

OKAY.

Drama boyfriend I'd actually want In Real Life?

Byun Hyung Tae from 9 Ends 2 Outs. He's handsome, sweet, caring. He'd know most everything about me but still keep it romantic. He'd be my best friend and lover. Stable and interesting job. Our friends get along. I mean, Perfection.

On the other hand, there are too many drama boyfriends that I adored that wouldn't work IRL. I mean, that's basically all of them. The ones that come to mind right now are Mike He from Why Why Love. I completely adored his and Rainie's relationship during that show but I think he'd be too immature and I'd get tired of it too soon. Chiaki from Nodame Cantabile probably would be the best contender for "first" boyfriend (he's very talented, ambitious, but still cares for others. He's just emotionally stunted). A Love To Kill is my favorite drama but I didn't get enough of a feel of Rain's character to determine 'Drama Boyfriend' level.

Now you've got me thinking!

There are TONS of drama men I adore but would murder in rl - I like my fictional basketcases (like Bokgu in ALTK - even his issues have issues).

I really must watch 9E2O one of these days!

I think you'd really enjoy 9End2Outs:) I watched it a few weeks ago and it's really a very good drama. Didn't quite have that spark of magic to make it one of my favorites, but I'm categorize it as one of those excellent mid-level dramas, the really solid ones that don't necessarily try for high-concept but succeed very well at what they set out to do. Shining Inheritance and Corner with Love are other examples of this genre for me(loved both of them, but didn't consider either brilliant).

also, it FINALLY fulfills the fantasy most of us have at some point of the drama best friend getting the girl.

I have many. ;D

There are fictional ones whom I won't like in RL, though. Hmm, whom would I have liked to have a RL relationship with?

1. A tie: Byun Hyung Tae from 9 Ends 2 Outs. - definitely.
Rui (Japanese version) - definitely

2. Hmm, I have to think more.. OH! Hwal from "Triple".

I agree with Hwal! And everyone in the house, really.

Rui would be too young for me. Also a little too 'odd' - I adore him but would never be exactly sure what he is thinking. Of course, it might be fun to see the passion beneath the reserved exterior :P

Hwal would be all right as long as he doesn't have to pay alimony to ex wife :P

Oh, I was just talking about this with cranberrysheep. Definitely Taek Gi from The Vineyard Man. He's funny and sweet and warm, without any deep-seated angst or parental issues, and he's a farmer -- home-grown and utterly unpretentious -- so he doesn't care if you keep your nails done and he isn't bothered by dirt or stinky feet or driving you around to find a place you can poop. He's just a down-to-earth, relatable guy who happens to be really hot with his shirt off.

Oh, and he looks like a damn fine kisser.

But he's a farmer! Which means you have to live on a farm :P Still, if he looks v.v. good shirtless, that might compensate :P

*smug* No you wouldn't. At the end of the drama he encouraged the heroine to pursue her dreams, because her life shouldn't revolve around her husband (HIS WORDS), and no matter what he would be "supporting her like the earth" so "you can leave your roots with me."

I'M TELLING YOU. BEST GUY EVER.

I agree. Plus, he may be a farmer but it's by choice of having his priorities straight - he's got brains! Someone who's very caring, humble & adorable beyond words!

Er... Jo Gook from City Hall is heading straight for the Blue House, and I quite fancy being the first lady of Korea! The man-liner and groomed eyebrows might be a bit too much though! :)

Seriously though, like mishane above, i would like Byun Hyung Tae to be my drama boyfriend. He's hot, has a good job, has been a great friend since high school days, respects the female heroine's mum, dresses well, plays classical guitar, cherishes friendships, and even old relationships, ...OMG! I WANT HIM TO BE MY DRAMA BOYFRIEND! Ok, he's a teeny bit younger than me, but that's acceptable. He is at least a 30 something.

Second choice would be Song SoonPung from a korean daily drama, The Sons of Sol Pharmacy. He's a total nerd but is still so sweet.

I need to watch 9E2O - must check out this ideal man :P

I'd put up with groomed eyebrows for the Presidency. But didn't he sleep with another guy in college? (somebody told me). Which is fine, but I'd be nervous dating a guy who swings both ways - what if he decides girls aren't enough? :)

Flying in to say - kitkat_cat I have to agree with you about Song Sun-pung. He's a total doek, but he's very sweet and I like that he can be firm when he needs to be. If I had to pick a son, I'd pick him or maybe Mi-pung.
