Rambliness...

I decided to give it another try and watched ep 4 of Lawyers of Korea as per ambergold's instructions. It was very hilarious. While the insane flashback which both makes me hate Min Gook the Rich Guy and makes no narrative sense (seriously - they do not interact in any way consistent with that flashback - none of the three main characters!) pretty much ( Read more... )

I watched some of 18 vs. 29! Maybe about...8, 9 episodes? It was cute, of what I watched, but also had the requisite evil secondary girl and secondary guy in love with main girl, so it was a little annoying. Can't remember why I dropped it, though. XD;;

I love evil secondary girls - I live to snarl at them on my computer :)

Roflmao, then I think you'll love it, since if I remember correctly, I REALLY hated her. XD

As long as she does not get the hero killed, like the girl in Outsiders, Hong Gil Dong, or (indirectly) Tree of Heaven, I will be gleefully enjoying her evil existence.

Wow we have such diverging experiences of this drama! I'm going to resist stepping into the futile position of defending HMG. :) And now that you know the spoiler about Lawyer Byun.... well, you're watching a completely different drama than we did. I can't wait to watch ep 5 tonight.

Oh, I want to read the defense - I'd love to be able to like him.

Re: spoiler re Byun. I am a total spoiler nut - there have been very few dramas I was fixated on enough to try and watch unspoiled entirely (Legend, Fashion 70s, Hong Gil Dong, and a very few others). All of those are rather plotty dramas unlike romcoms like this and e.g. My Girl or Delightful Girl Chun Hyang. So it doesn't really wreck an experience for me any more than it would with any other drama I've watched :)

He left because his parents were ill and he needed to finance his siblings education (which he could do by taking a US job) and also donate a kidney (?) to his sick sick father and pay for the operation - he did not want to bury her under a mountain of debt and a generally sucky situation. So he did the usual kdrama thing and bailed for her own good :)

:) I applaud the effort at any rate, tho I saw in your next post that you'll probably be dropping it.

it's very easy to ship Lawyer Byun/Yi Kyung in this drama - I commented after watching it that, while I was definitely an HMG/Yi Kyung shipper, I really don't mind any of the potential pairings.

that MV reminds me of Full House, and not just because of the song. xD

I have dropped many a drama I have liked just fine - I have a short attention span which means I keep planning to get back to them and never do. So usually unless it's mad love, the drama ends up unfinished :( This one really depends on whether some other drama I try I will end up loving madly - I already have a 'love madly' serious drama so if I also have a comic one, I'd probably be full up and find it hard to fit another one like LoK in (this drama would benefit from dvds where I could ff it and read subs - I don't like most any drama enough to watch without any ff).

Full House = adorableness, IMO. If 18vs29 is half as good, I'll be in heaven.
