I think he blackmailable because he loves his parents and it would ruin them.

His "No, we are not going there." throughout all that instead of caving in like the more typical heroes goes a long way to my liking the drama.

I guess the parents thing makes sense, though if I were him, I'd leave them to rot - they deserve to be ruined, IMO.

I loved that! I also liked how undramatic he was about it. It's not like he ran around trying to persuade them or rail at them or call the caterer to stop ot or whatever. No, he just told them he wasn't going to and they could do whatever they wanted with the info, it wasn't any of his concern. He wasn't going to waste his energy and time, if they wanted to waste theirs, whatever.
