1. Oh boy, Princess Ja Myung Go really went there. One of the characters is Wang Hol, someone who married his widowed sister-in-law to save her life (she was 30 and he was 10 or similar). She brought him up from when he was a baby. So far, so good. Now she was washing his back (he is a grown-up now) and drooling. I understand, he is plenty hot, but ( Read more... )

As someone on my flist commented, a foreigner and a mute girl equals doom. Plus, the "future time" of the story has Bito a bit too shiny-happy to be in prison.

I think the future time isn't so much the problem, but the fact that he is in jail, and the girl nowhere to be seen. Now what conclusion do you get from that? I would say it's pretty clear what the end will be... and that's the reason I'm hesitating to watch it.

True. I am now having horrible thoughts about Oguri Shun killing Hana and framing Bito for it, or similar.

Hm... not a bad idea. But then why would he take the blame? Maybe it's reversed, and Hana did something to Shun?

Maybe. Or maybe he didn't want to take the blame but got framed and convicted anyway because of fake evidence or similar. But I hope not.

I never really got the gay vibe from JJH. Maybe bisexual at the most. But not gay. At least I don't think so.

But yeah, those pictures are normal, having fun pictures that we all take. Oh, Korea.

I am glad he had fun because he ain't likely to be having more fun any time in the near future :)

I never got any particular vibe from him, gay or straight, but some of his trippy fashion choices in RL made me wonder.

I can't get into Matsumoto Jun's characters. He was good in Gokusen and Hana Yori Dango, but everything else... he kinda makes me cringe.

I thought I had overactive gaydar, but I always thought Joo Ji Hoon was straight. I dunno why. Maybe because his fashion sense is just sooo bad.

LOL - it's his fashion sense that made me wonder the other way as I never got the gay vibe from him otherwise. Though now I am thinking he was just drug addled when he picked his clothes (I mean, seriously, he is one of the most gorgeous men I've ever seen but his clothes made him look like a repulsive hobo).

Plus, maybe I thought nobody that pretty can be straight - that would be too much to ask :)

I am loving Smile. Hana/Bito are completely my OTP of the season. (BTW: I hate that people on boards keep calling him 'Vito') Anyway, they are very cute together. I mean - she was stalking him in episode one, so it's a bit odd that he thinks she doesn't like him. Poor Bito.

The show is a love story, so I'm praying for some kind of happy ending. I'm letting myself be naive and just think that Bito's so happy, because Hana visits him off screen. And they can't show or mention her in 2015, because that would, in a sense, give away all the events of 2009. For all we know, in 2015, Hana can speak and is waiting for Bito on the outside.

Yeah, I prefer to think that too. To give them an unhappy ending would be like kicking a puppy.

It really would be like kicking a puppy. And, honestly, it's the only thing that makes sense. This is billed as a romance, for goodness sake. And it's written by Takuma Takayuki, who generally writes happy endings.
