I want to basically BITCHSLAP most of the hero's family in Marrying a Millionaire. Seriously. (Ahhh, rage at kdrama families, how I missed you!) Our hero is sweet and hard-working but not too bright (about which more below). He's also working hard for his high-school equivalency diploma (with dubious success) as he's never graduated from high ( Read more... )

Should watch this sometime. The show sounds like Joe Millionaire, with the fake rich guy.

It's sort of based on it - the drama is cute.

Green Rose is a Monte Cristo story? Whaattt?? I always thought it was just some random angsty show.

I might just have to watch it now!

Yup. Basically the same story - a nice normal guy gets framed for a crime (in this case murder and attempted murder) he did not commit by a bunch of people. He goes to jail and escapes (with some major suffering along the way).

Some time later he comes back under another name, rich and powerful, to find out who framed him and why and to punish them.

Lee Da Hae is the Mercedes character in this - hero's otp who one of the bad guys wants.

And for some reason I thought Lee Da Hae's character was a bitch in Green Rose. Hmm. . .

I really am thinking about DL'ing this now.

Marry A Millionaire is the kind of show that you just sit seething watching it. lol. Go Soo was just sweetness though and whenever good things happened to his character all your anger just kind of vanished. It's silly and pointless at times but entertaining all in all. At least from what I remember. The end is the kind of ending that makes you go "YAY!" Hee.

Yeah, I finished it and my final verdict was that it was worth it for Go Soo. It was pretty mediocre otherwise, in every respect.
