A washed out star and a manga-obsessed otaku: true love indeed!

Mar 01, 2009 10:08

Two episodes in, and it's official: I adore To Get Her the way I haven't adored a twdrama since last year's Why Why Love. The plots of the two are quite different but both share more than just the leading lady. They also have this delightful combination of a sea of fluffiness with a perfectly mixed in underpinning of angst, and an easy, friendly ( Read more... )

mars, doramas2, to get her

But if my crush on Jiro gets any bigger, he'll overtake Wu Chun as my favorite member of Farenheit and I don't know if that's legal. That is how it should be!!! Wu Chun might be prettier than Jiro, but Jiro can act both the hilarious goofball AND serious (as seen in the lady director scene). I need a Jiro icon :)

True - though Wu Chun is so pretty he doesn't need to act :P

But yeah, Jiro really is my favorite Farenheit member - I think it's OK, seeing how popular Wu Chun is, he won't be too upset.

Yep .. though Jiro seems to have taken a page from Wu Chun's (Health) book. He no only sports a similar hair do but he also steeled his bod. Oh yeah .. to be 25 again and living in Asia ... then I wouldn't feel so much like a craddle robber :)

Heee. It's still better for me to be swooning over Jiro (only a couple years younger) than obsessing over BOF boys, the way I've been doing :P

Yeah I ready somewhere that Momo's friend has the mental age of an 8 yr old, so you're right. I like how the actor is playing it not so overboard, he's a cutie. Off to watch the raws on youtube weeee.

Ep 3 was good! Several LOL moments and a few sad ones too. I can't remember when I enjoyed a t-drama this much.

hahaha! so glad you're liking it! (I heard the new episode comes out today! woo-hoo!)

and yes, George Hu's character, her swimming friend, according to the plot synopsis IS supposed to have the mental capacity of an 8-year old(which is another interesting quirk I haven't seen in a drama before. although I'm not gonna lie, I'm glad she ends up with Jiro instead. He's very endearingly arrogant/insecure)

y'know, I"ve never liked Wu Zun. So Jiro stands easily first in my book :)

Jiro's character is so obnoxiously adorable, if it makes sense. Mmmmmm.

It's funny, I adore two members of Farenheit (Chun and Jiro) and couldn't care less about the other two.

I'm glad this drama has caught on! Twdramas need more love. I love it too, but I was honestly excpecting it to a bit more angsty. And I honestly think Taiwan needs to be told exactly WHAT an agoraphobe is.

The saddest thing is, from what I can tell, what the drama is portraying is basically how the Taiwanese entertainment industry is; it's a pretty cutthroat place.

And I HATE Rainie's hair. I wouldn't mind if it were short, but it honestly looks like they tucked her hair under. In the back it looks like a giant puff ball.

Wu Zun is amazing (and I do think he's gotten a LOT better at acting, he outplayed Shun-kun as Sano), but Jiro's always been my favorite! I'm getting the new Fahrenheit album soon, and I'm soo going to post hot Jiro pictures from it!

Twdramas are my favorite - I always forget in between viewings, but they were my first and still remain my thing.

I love Wu Zun - *swoony sigh* Have you watched Butterfly Lovers? He is to die for in that - hot and angsty and with a sword!

Re: agoraphobia. LOL. Drama medicine never made sense to me.

I forgot that twdramas were your favorite! Most people focus more on jdramas or kdramas... I lose track... I'm the same with twdramas though, I forget just how awesome they are when I'm busy watching jdramas.

Noooo! I need to watch it though! *puts it on massive list* I've recently been really into Taiwanese movies, so I'll totally have to watch it.

Plus, since it's Taiwan, you've got all sorts of crazy Chinese medicine / folk remedies going on!
