Finished Bara No Na Hanaya.
*sniffle sob big sappy grin glee*
Though maybe I am not too nice, but I think there should have been a HELL of a lot more grovelling on the part of Old Doctor. Yes, in case you are wondering, I ended the drama still LOATHING him...what kind of a freaking apology was that! He set out to ruin someonee's life on purpose and trick someone into helping by promising something he knew he couldn't deliver (he made Mio do all this and he knew he couldn't do the surgery her father needed). I HATE HIM. Heck, I would apologize more for stepping on someone's foot!
LOATHING.
And least Naoya apologized propery and also got to pay for his sins by being beaten to a pulp. Also, I am willing to cut more slack to a 20 year old than a 60 year old.
UGH.
Go die somewhere evil doctor.
Also, even though I do understand and like Mio, I think she also should have apologized a heck of a lot more. Especially since it was because of her that Eiji had to tell Shizuku she wasn't his biological daughter (in a scene that killed). I mean, a letter? That's it?
Oddly, I don't hate Shun at all. He is not the nicest person, but all the stuff he did or didn't do wasn't out of hatred, but out of sense of damage and distrust of goodness. Oh, look at me, being so generous to an abuse victim :P (Btw, the actor playing him looks familiar...I wonder where I've seen him before).
But of course the ending of the drama was very kind to everyone, and there is hope and happiness for everyone: Eiji finally allowing himself to be happy, and surrounded by his makeshift family (OMG the scene with his starting to cry), hope for the OTP of Sensei and Master (seriously, how long is it going to take those two to hook up! I've seen snails faster), hope for Old Doctor (LOATHE) who now has the love of his granddaughter (WTF was with Shizuku living with him! That's insane! Go back to Eiji!). Hope for Naoya who is studying and has the care of his Aniki. Hope for Mio whose father is better and who has found love and trust and a new start with Eiji. Even hope for Shun to maybe one day believe there is genuine love to give and receive out there...
You know two scenes I loved more than anything, even as they made me bawl?
Eiji in the aftermath of slapping Shizuku. Because he is so horrified, because it is so unforgivable in his eyes, because he was an abused child so to him this is the ultimate abomination and he starts slamming his hand against the wall, talking how real love is infinitely patient...and, all right, I confess. My stomach was hurting from crying. And then he has to pick her out from the crowd and he does...
But the scene that really killed me? When Shun forces him to tell Shizuku he is not her biological father in exchange for going back and doing surgery on Mio's father. Oh. That killed me. Killed me. Killed me. Oh God. Oh God. The way his hands are, and the way his voice shakes, and his eyes and...OK, I am starting to cry again.
Am I right or did at the end the flower shop become also a sort of a halfway house for abused children, like the ones Eiji and Shun (and Hiroto) were?
