The Boxer and the Nun: it sounds like some joke punchline, doesn't it?

May 07, 2008 23:37

I was too tired, after the long day PLUS Winter Sonata to watch Goong or even Sweet 18, so I finished 1 Pound No Fukuin, a.k.a. the one where Kame plays a boxer who falls in love with a nun, instead.

1Pound is very fluffy and cute, if also rather repetitive and almost forgettable.

However, it is saved from that sad fate by:

1. Kame is just this adorable puppyish ball of energy. I can't resist. Physically, he is never my type (I like them more guyish), but he is one my faves anyway, due to sheer charisma. Plus, I think he is very underrated as an actor. He is rather uniformly excellent in this too (though this isn't the drama to check out his acting chops. Nobuta or Tattakoi are much better at that).

2. The fact that the heroine is a nun amuses me to no end.

3. The episode with the host club. I loled so hard.

4. The fact that at the end Sister Angela gave Jesus up for this wacky, dorky, adorable, and completely sweet boxer. And there was a wedding!!! And happy married life!!! Awww.

I close on a vid of Kame/Nun cuteness.
